How frequently do you get scam calls?

on the flipside when I got this most recent number I kept getting calls for the previous owner. lot's of calls from the Philly school district saying my child was absent or late today, which was a bummer, and then calls from medicare (which seemed legit, I know that's a common scam tactic though), and then texts from a guy who wanted to smash

all a bummer and I wish Katrina V the best

i do like that the unknown caller shows up as Scam Likely

every time, i picture Scam Likely, the lost character in a pynchon novel

one time i called back a number and it was this pitched sped-up voice like "WELCOME TO NEW ROCHESTER INDUSTRIES" and i couldn't stop laughing. it sounded straight out of ren and stimpy or something.

for so long i thought that i had just saved some number as "scam likely" and never picked these up. unfortunately i've had work calls screened as "scam likely" so i have to pick these up whenever they happen >:(

I get bursts of them on a regular basis, can be 4/5 per day sometimes. Most used to be obvious callback scams from random countries but have bene getting a bunch from the UK now too. I answered one a few weeks ago and spoke to them tonsee what they had on me. They were trying to pitch forex trading shit and had my name, number, dob and a very very old email address. They were obviously calling everyone on some hacked database. I also get email alerts from Google twice a day telling me someone in Mexico or Russia or Brazil etc has tried to log into my account. Again, i assume its an automatic attempt at hacking based on passwords from some dumped hack. The future is fucking exhausting.

About 0-3 everyday. A lot of the times its the aforementioned local cops who are trying to get me.

Another one happens if I answer the call, there will be someone saying these lines

"Hi is Johnny there?"

"No"

"Oh good, well maybe you can help..."

Then I hang up

All my details were leaked in a couple of those big website hacks, the main one was PaddyPower (Irish betting site) which didn't even say they had been hacked for like 4 years. So any details they want about me is floating around in that database.

We still have a landline and it's weird to me when scammers act as if someone answered the phone when it was obviously a "We're not here" answering machine message.
So we'll have messages like "Hello? . . . Hello? . . . Hellloooo? Mr. Viz, hello?"

Used to be 2-3 calls in Mandarin per day accusing me of money laundering in Macau.

Now it's 1-3 extended warranty calls per day. With maybe 1 Mandarin one per week.

The social security one with the sheriff is pretty funny tho

Last week I got 3 calls and 2 texts in an hour about roofing. I live in an apartment. Extremely tired of my phone being aware that it’s a spam call but still alerting me. I block then they change numbers.
