You said you haven't seen any Gaspar Noe? It's not exactly a favorite on the board but Enter the Void is visually insane and I kind of love it.

melancholia is the one I can't get behind either. just actively disliked it. I find worth in pretty much all of his other movies even if I don't always enjoy the entirety of them

Have seen enter the void, the only Gasper Noe, I guess. You would have thought it was right up my alley and I would love it, but I didn't

Still gotta watch birth and under the skin

wow, so tired today

I am in a very odd, narcotic mood, v different from the norm, but I tried to start PlayTime and made it ten minutes... tried to start MacCabe and Mrs. Miller and made it through the Leonard Cohen song... but Fishing with John is scratching the literal itches tonight, that's for sure

i only really saw von trier movies when i was younger. i liked dogville the most. a couple years ago i saw breaking the waves for the first time and it was horrible. i think i'd feel that way about a lot of his movies if i went back to them now. ttyl!

I don't think it's the Total Classic that you've probably heard it is but i like freaks a lot, and it has some great shots and scenes like the human torso wriggling through the mud and the wedding banquet scene and the final shot of what the freaks do to the lady they all hate...that has got to be seen...you don't mess with the freaks that's for sure. but i think it's a movie that sort of wants to have its cake and eat it too. that's my freaks take.

Damn. I'm interested in Rivette. I haven't watched Celine and Julie Go Boating although I've had it downloaded forever... but I was just trying to read about Lynch's influences and anything Lynchian, really, and came upon Out 1. I think it sounds incredible. Quite a feat to undertake at 14 hours... and I can't put it on my hard drive right now... but wondering if someone could db it for me to stream. Is it worth 14 hours?

I can db that for you, madness (altho the issue with subtitles/db streaming may arise. I don't think the subs are hard-coded into the file)

are you...sure you want it? it's a big file

I still haven't watched it myself, quite daunting. but I feel like anything rivette did will enrich yr life

ah, the subtitles deal is completely true. I wonder how to figure that out. Maybe I can putlocker/openload it and find subs

should I watch Celine and Julie first and see if I'm into that or maybe just go into this?

A toughy.

Also, you know me, I download ruthlessly all day every day and now have literally 200+ films to watch and I only have time for one a day anymore, if I'm lucky. No more five films a day.

marathoned 3 awesome films i've been meaning to see while sick yesterday

The Quiet Earth, On the Silver Globe, and Until the End of the World. also watched Brainstorm this morning, but despite how cool it looked, can't say i'd give it a full-hearted rec.
