Yes, it's incredible.

For the past two weeks I've been trying to get an S+ on hardcore with Leon. I think I might finally be able to do it this weekend.

I always got burned out on resident evil games as a kid because I didn't have the right consoles (so I was playing at friends' houses) and hate tank controls, but I like the re2 remake and will end up buying the re3 one

i just replayed RE4 like 2 months ago for the first time since i played it on gamecube as a kid, playing through RE2 remake now on hardcore. i love these fucking games. i knew basically nothing about RE2 going into this so i have had some legit scares w/ tyrant and some good jump scares. also, multiple times in this playthrough i've thought "i messed up, i wasted too much ammo, i'm screwed now" only to pull through. it feels so good. i'm nearing the end of the game as leon now, excited to play through as claire and just clean house. will definitely be getting the RE3 remake when it's out.

I find the tyrant way too goofy/busymaking to be scary, but it didn't help that I knew the mechanic already. also weird to encounter it after playing alien isolation, which iterated on "you are relentlessly hunted by a thing you can't kill" to make it scarier and more varied

lickers, though, are freaky

man i wanted SO badly to like Alien Isolation but I just have the hardest time with first-person games.

once i'm done with Death Stranding I should probably pick up RE2

i'm on the 3rd tyrant appearance and at this point i'm just like "oh, you again, great" so i definitely get what you're saying, but that first appearance in the station had me freaked

all the actual game dlc stuff (ghost survivors or whatever) was free

you had to buy the OG soundtrack unfortunately...but that 2 bucks was well, well worth it

they need to patch in zombie brad for 2 to hold us morons over

you know even if I'm in the re4 is kind of an already perfect game that doesn't need a remake camp I would not at all be opposed to one w/ some future iteration of the RE engine at this point.

Code veronica is still definitely the game in the series that could benefit from a remake/re-imaging the most though

I was able to complete the RE3 demo in just about 15 minutes. The last minute or two were definitely just as intense as the original but I kind of wish I had held off until the actual release.

If you thought the zombies in the RE2 remake were bullet sponges, you're in for a rude awakening.

started up an og RE3 play through in anticipation of the remake next week and am trying it out with this HD mod for the gamecube version on dolphin

https://www.reshdp.com/re3/

it's almost a bit too clean and def prefer how it originally looks but its still kinda neat too see some of these backgrounds all cleaned up in higher res.

so excited for next friday!!

This game absolutely shreds. I've put in about 4 hours and I'm guessing that I have another hour or so to go.

The zombies are a lot faster and are total bullet sponges. Kneecapping doesn't really seem to work as well this time around so it can be really frustrating when a group of them are blocking your path. I think I prefer the evasive maneuver over the defensive items. Grenades and knives can be equipped as your primary weapon and knives don't have a durability gauge, but they've definitely been nerfed and don't inflict nearly as much damage.

Nemesis really doesn't follow you around everywhere outside of a few scripted sequences. I guess that's not all that different from the original game but I think people were speculating you'd never be safe.Toggle Spoiler

I'm tired and kind of rambling now but I just wanted to talk about this game, so see ya.

Yeah I had a PSN gift card from Christmas and I couldn't decide whether to buy this or FFVII. Unfortunately for FFVII this simply came out first.

If the tank controls were the only thing holding you back then yeah, I’d definitely get both this and RE2.
