T. Rex are so good

'Cause I've been postin' and laughin' so long
That even my momma thinks that my mind is gone

Inspired by listening to Jeepster on repeat on the train ride home.

I was listening to them today thinking about how weird they are. Like regardless if you think that is good or bad, it's a weird thing they did.

Sunken Rags: 2:01
Thunderwing: 0:07, 0:41, 1:35, 2:44, 3:18

As you can see, all recorded instances occur on either Slider or the "Telegram Sam" or "Children of the Revolution" singles. So he appears to have started doing it sometime around January 1972 and to have stopped by that summer.

Roger Daltrey singing the line “I drunk myself blind to the sound of old T. Rex” on You Better You Bet might be my all time favorite example of a musician shouting out another band in lyrics.

one of the best things the board ever turned me onto was A Beard Of Stars

was already a fan of the staples, but that album is so satisfying to listen to straight through for me

There's also a great shout out to T Rex on All the Young Dudes

I've been running through my college ipod on shuffle, lots of T. Rex on there
When John Walsh refers to criminals as cowards and creeps I just get more jacked

Mambo Sun and Metal Guru are two of my favorite openers

I remember being in complete disbelief when I heard Metal Guru for the first time... it took me several times to actually listen to it because I kept starting over
