The first “Lion King” was heavily influenced by Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Somehow the Bard never got around to writing a part II to the story of the indecisive Danish prince, so Disney may not be able to crib from the playwright this time around.

Written as if there isn't already a Lion King sequel based off of Romeo and Juliet. But also it would be bananas if they remade Lion King 2 Simba's Pride in the weird realistic CGI. Maybe they can do King Lear.

Maybe it's me but I feel like all the Marvel/Disney/Star Wars escapism that's being announced requires a fundamental belief in there being a better world to escape to and I just don't know if I accept that possibility anymore, hence why everything looks like garbage. Or maybe it's all objectively trash and I don't need next week's therapy appointment.

I'm not going to watch the trailer, but whoa is Buzz Lightyear meant to be an actual person who actually exists in the Toy Story Universe, and then they made a toy because he was so famous? Or is this supposed to be a movie that would be made within the Toy Story Universe about a fictional character (like the equivalent of a "GI Joe" movie in our universe) ?

I gotta know.

I actually just watched the trailer and, while it explains everything you're asking, it also provided me with the hope to go on for another day. Thanks to Chris Evans, Tim Allen, and Walter Disney for renewing my hope in tomorrow.

Buoyed by this newfound optimism I'm gonna watch TOMORROW-Land, knowing that this Mickey Mouse organization knows how to provide quality means of hopeful fun and escape while hitting all the right buttons

I haven't seen any of the live action remakes. Lion King, Aladdin, Mulan, are there more? Gonna watch them eventually.

For live action Little Mermaid, I'm guessing adult women aged 25-45. For Buzz Lightyear, kids and nerds.
