i think booker has gained enough name recognition and followers statewide to make a big push for a seat in the next few election cycles, though. his big surge came really late because of the various protests and the delayed primary/voting process. i think a ton of people just sent in ballots for mcgrath before they even knew about booker.

I was going to ask if she was one of the qanon candidates, but I guess that answers that.

its been a fools gold district. i think biden would have to be winning CO by like 16 for it to be even at pres level. and it seems pretty inelastic. but she might say something extra crazy who knows

how does this get squared?

why do milquetoast Dems and independents care enough about reforming criminal justice to vote out shitty DAs?

there haven't been a ton of victories but it's significantly more successful than the left primary Dem takeover attempts

i don't think it's that hard to square left leaning DAs winning in huge cities thru a coalition of the young. it isn't milquetoast indies voting for these ppl, it's a coalition of younger POC and newly radicalized white hipsters/yuppies

it's also in my experience easier to mobilize around a DA race than most other things. visceral, tangible.

two more examples of this yesterday in CO

two Bernie-endorsed DAs (Payne and Padden) romped in their primaries

Payne was in a rural district too
