This feels extremely thinly reported to me, but everybody's either cheering or up in arms about it.
Jeffries is my rep and I volunteered for AOC's primary so I feel like I'm uniquely qualified to say: as much as I think we could do better than Jeffries, this would in all likelihood be a waste of resources (relative to the amount of infighting it will cause). Jeffries is not Crowley, he's nowhere near as out of touch with the district as Crowley was.
That said... I do think it's good to continue pressuring Jeffries, and a strong primary could help him stop voting for corporate friendly stuff, sign onto a Green New Deal etc. So whatever, go for it. The Democrats who are naturally inclined to dislike/distrust AOC already do so, and the campaign Crowley waged to make sure that Jeffries got the caucus chair job over Barbara Lee was extremely bad and I don't blame anyone around her for feeling like they want revenge for it.
I don't have any special insider knowledge on this, but like I said I think it's thinly reported and would be surprised if they'd actually already identified somebody to run against Jeffries.
