wish it went either more campy* or more scary but kind of settled on nothing in particular

*there was this one bit at the restaurant that i'm forgetting in which her coworker was like "ok.... whatever" to her being like "that's my stalker"

I also loved the visit to the restaurant. when she tastes for the wine says something along the lines of "It starts off promising but is ultimately disappointing, like you." and how the renovations in the apartment are later on revealed to have been a captive signalling for attentionToggle Spoiler

I appreciate that jordan clues the viewer into what's going on extremely quickly via the handbag reveal, but I agree that the campiness in the middle often reads more as silliness/corniness than disturbing. it's not until the third act when it becomes totally unhinged that I got really into it. if the middle was stronger this would have been solid instead of occasionally inspiredToggle Spoiler

I thought this letterboxd capsule was on point
"Isabelle Huppert photostalks 20-year olds with her Nokia brickphone while those same kids use a landline to communicate in their NYC loft in the year 2019" is very much my aesthetic.

I thought she was good in Clouds of Sils Maria, but that didn't seem like that challenging of a role.

this was about what i expected it to be but .. kind of dull. i came away with this really liking maika monroe and that i wish she was in the CGM role.

lots of little things didnt make sense. why did they have a landline? CGM leaves her bike unchained in front of Greta's house. idk this def felt like it was written by two out-of-touch wealthy older dudes.

Huppertinjecting her chopped off finger and like orgasmingToggle Spoiler was worth the price of admission!
