Prometheus should work, everything is set up to work, great eclectic supporting cast (rewatching now I recognized that Sean Harris and Kate Dickie ended up being the king and queen in green knight),a great villain role for Fassbender (loved how his character watched Lawrence of Arabia to copy Peter O'Tooles mannerisms). The alien world was cool and unsettling. The plot was extremely straightforward and yet they seemed like they had no idea what they were doing after the first 45 minutes. Also the two leads and emotional heart of the movie were noomi rapace and some no name dude and they were awful

Prometheus felt like a typical Ridley Scott situation where he acquiesced to a hacky studio-mandated theatrical cut out of the assumption that he'd get his usual DVD director's cut a year later, and that the latter part just never happened.

prometheus was the most unnecessary thing tho. like the mystery and implied history in alien is perfect. you could argue even aliens, which is one of my favorite movies, was superfluous and overly literal in the context of the original. but like prometheus isn't just superfluous, its like, theres no upside to trying to create an origin story for alien.

people should cut prometheus some slack for being dumb because pretty much all movies are dumb except double indemnity, eyes wide shut and maybe citizen kane too
I look at bluegrass music as this sort of glowing ball. The point is to relax the technique around the glowing ball of feeling.

Saw an advanced screening of this last night. Lotta crazy design choices not shown in the trailer. It was epic

I love huge oppressive structures in sci-fi and fantasy and it sounds like this plans to deliver on that front
