So.... total mess?

Dave Bautista and Timothee Chalamet are onboard. And now Stellan Skarsgard is Baron Harkonnen

They should give the Muad'dib role to Jodorowsky's son considering he trained for it from birth.

Wonder if they'll put Skarsgard in a fat suit, or do away with the whole 'so obese he needs anti-grav thrusters to move' thing.

I... don't know how well this book will do as a modern sci-fi film. At least seeing realistic worms at scale will be cool.

yeah of course i’ve never read dune but it doesn’t seem like the psychedelia aspects of the source material would jibe at all with villeneuve’s sensibilities. its like christopher nolan doing the incal
I look at bluegrass music as this sort of glowing ball. The point is to relax the technique around the glowing ball of feeling.

This is now (at least) the third thread about this project and/or Villeneuve, I've got to make sure that anyone reading knows my opinions re: Dave Bautista, and how good he is.

it’s like it’s a crime these days to adapt an sf novel that hasn’t already been adapted

watching some scenes again on yt and realized something unrelated: it's so weird seeing bright green backgrounds in movies nowadays. looks like they forgot to do the cg.

"Psychedelic" isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of the book.

There are hallucinatory aspects to spice usage but it's not like the text itself really resembles Jodorowsky's particular vision for the movie.
