I was an instigator. I just drew my own “vote for me”
Signs. I put them all over the school. It caught on and I kind of over took the cool kids vote. They were furious.
Was hysterical
And yes in theory they just wrote my name down instead of the nominated

this was similar to my high school as well. my graduating class was 93 people and the majority of us had gone to school since kindergarten so there really weren't cliques or popularity in any conventional sense and as a result I always found pop culture aimed at teens to be slightly confusing

I went to a K-12 with a graduating class of about 60 and we were all pretty much friends but some of us were plainly cooler than others.

I would say I was around the 65th percentile.

that was kind of how mine was as well. everyone mostly got along but you could definitely tell who was cool and who wasnt. I was not cool but wad never bullied or anything and mostly got along with everyone, outside of people I had specific issues with/they had specific issues with me.

the clique stuff always confused me because id see stuff about band geeks on tv but a large chunk of the football team were also in band and it didn't have the reputation it does in pop culture.

My graduating class had around 60 students left out of the ~400 when I first started HS due to the 90s troop drawdown/consolidation overseas. As such we were all pretty tight by the end. I got Most Creative I think because I was in drama and played guitar and had long hair.

Like McWop I did football and quiz bowel and had a few close friends.

But I was bullied by upperclassmen too.

I cried once when the football team killed a frog. Didn’t really have killer instinct on the field either you can imagine.

I think I was 40-50 percentile.

I wonder how much that time flavors interactions now? I do love to root for underdogs.

I would say I was probably dead center. I was never really bullied, but I never went to parties or anything either. I was invisible!!

I had a huge group of friends among various groups. I did theater, speech and debate, quiz bowl, academic decathlon, lit mag...soooo, I was a huge nerd and I was great with that. Not popular but a lot of friends is where it's at.

I peaked in terms of popularity in grad school. I was unquestionably one of the most well liked people in my program. Elected as representative to the grad school council and everything. Almost makes up for middle school and elementary school when I was horrifically bullied haha kids

its insane to me how little i talked to anyone most of my time in high school. people tried to befriend me a lot because i was sort of stylish and i think they found the aloofness interesting, but i was way too shy and caught up in the romance of being a weirdo loner to really engage anyone

i started hanging out with a pretty popular crowd in junior year until i transferred to an alternative school for reasons i struggle to comprehend now and basically stopped talking to them

i transferred to a different high school half way through so i suppose more people in the city knew me. also i was a druggie that got really good grades so that was an interesting bridge between the 'good' kids and the 'bad' kids. i guess i wasn't popular at school but i was able to just sit wherever i wanted during lunch and everyone was pretty accepting although i didn't really care to get close to anyone.

i stopped interacting with people from high school before graduation even happened. i'm not even friends with anyone i grew up with on facebook. bums me out sometimes but then i stumble across someone's profile and think to myself "thank god i didn't turn out like them" and it cheers me up a bit.

I was in the outer fringes of the cool groups but was def not cool myself. Probably right in the middle of the spectrum. I was also on the football team but we were bad so the soccer team was the cool sports clique (and I was terrible on an already bad team)

Not popular.

But I was in the AP program and skateboarded and was down with the rocker kids, so I had a lot of meaningful relationship.

I was of the opinion that the popular kids SUUUUCT

yeah, i was on the outer fringe. i skateboarded and some of the popular bmx/snow bros who also skated thought i was cool but i rejected their advances at further friendship because i thought they were kinda dumb. and also i was incredibly shy and awkward and had the good 'ol anxiety/depression

i hung out with all the people who listened to indie rock and smoked weed. a few i still hang out with.

memories or incidents that were "in highschool" (like they happened in the school) are the kind of shit i try to completely pry from my brain. i've done good at that so far, maybe i'll forget it all eventually.
