paid to watch Jennifer 8 at the time btw. and speaking of Malkovich, this made a ton of money at the time (and it's another one i went to see) but it's never mentioned these days

i went to see In the Line of Fire with my dad in the theatre and loved it. iirc it features a small, click-together, plastic gun which i thought was very cool

I'd submit Shattered (1991). rewatched it a few years ago and really enjoyed it

thread inspired by mellowgold's mention of Basic Instinct the other day, by the way. it reminded me of Sliver for the first time in years

i agree with a couple mentioned so far, "disagree" with the other two since i feel they were culturally relevant and referenced fairly often (for obvious reasons) even in the 00s. probably way more forgotten this decade though and i guess that counts, especially if you're 10-15 years younger than me

Dead Again, 1991; dir. Kenneth Branagh
cast: Kenneth Branagh Derek Jacobi Andy García Robin Williams Lois Hall Emma Thompson Wayne Knight Hanna Schygulla Campbell Scott Christine Ebersole Miriam Margolyes

In 1949 composer Roman Strauss is executed for the vicious murder of his wife Margaret with a pair of scissors. In 1990s Los Angeles a mute amnesiac woman shows up at an orphanage and private eye Mike Church is called in to investigate. Under hypnosis both the woman and Church seem to have a strange link back to the Strauss murder.

I think *almost* entirely forgotten is a key distinction here

Might be too late for this thread but would Best Laid Plans (1999) fit the bill? Weirdly strong memories of watching this one with a friend, presumably rented from Blockbuster and probably only because it had Nivola in it (who we had loved in Face/Off)

Unlawful Entry rocks. General's Daughter is one of the most repulsive movies.

Best Laid Plans was pretty good (although i haven't revisited it in over 15 years) and i hope it's not entirely forgotten

who remembers this from 95?
