let's argue over what's the last legit great rock album

Health insurance rip off lying FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes
Run to your mansions
Come around
We'll kick your ass in

i dunno. it's a very sad aspect of our nature, but also one of the foundations of love

Spoilt Victorian Child wrote:I basically can't bear to read about music anymore so I don't know what the state of play is as far as all the meta stuff.

This is true for me too but there's also a part of me that wants to hear lester bangs explain the world through...pop..culture...metaphors or whatever.
It might be hard to explain how seriously people took music criticism at certain times

If we're just talking purely about good rock music on an album the last one I could stand to listen to more than once was Simple Songs

I remember my freshman dorm mate telling my early on in the year Jet was saving rock n roll. I nodded causally in agreement to politely exit the coversation and went back to playing diablo 2.

it's probably tame impala cementing rock into a mood/vibe for urban outfitters and background music for whenever a chill bro is introduced in time-based media

this helps me understand why when i listened to currents for the first time recently i was very impressed by it and by all accounts should've liked it but still mostly just wanted to throw it out of a window
