i thought JJverse 1 and especially 3 were more fun than any of this shit, honestly. 3 was the first thing in ages that felt related to roddenberry’s vision.

i also enjoyed the dumb effort they put into in-canon explanation for the new continuity. but even that has been ruined by nerds now i guess.

there's an episode of ds9 where o'brien gets replaced by like an alternate timeline version of himself and the show just continues with no one ever bringing it up again

don't forget the one where his daughter is lost in a time portal and comes out aged 10 years as a feral child and the solution is to throw her back in and forget about her

the whole idea of infinite multiverse with infinite outcomes is like... cool so we just settled on this one because it has satsfying dramatic arcs?

and thats sorta depressing if you put any thought into it at all: like every hellscape alt reality we glimpse has an entire universe of continuity thats every bit as real as the one the show tracks, just less classically scripted so who cares?

first of all, its really difficult to meet strange new aliens with similar, but narrowly focused issues based culture when you're on a farm in france.

you gotta go to space for that.

i read a story treatment online somewhere for a tng continuation about picard and geordi coming out of retirement for a mission to find the lost uss galaxy and restoring it with leah brahms and then going on adventures through a wormhole or something and it sounds so nice compared to this

So Played by a different actor in Picard. But why bring the character back at all as its going to give him attention?

ok yeah the floor sliding was real dumb but honestly we are getting modern star trek with sir pat and that in itself gives this show so many bonus points.

im fine with it overall and actively enjoy the show. def in the crew recruiting arc but if anyone has watched one piece crew recruiting went on for like 250 episodes rather than the ten or so this show is going to take so no big deal.

It's still better than enterprise. If tng came out tomorrow y'all would rinse the shit out of it.
jockesh or jakesh in farsi means pimp and unlike american in farsi pimp is a big insult and commonly applied to scoundrels and bad people like bush jr and i dont know of a word for actual jocks i dont think its a thing in iran but also anyway i wanted to say i believe in nothing
