I found in the age of spotify, it was hard to look back on my favorites of the 2010's. Made thinking of what I've listened to the most in past decade pretty difficult. My brain ain't that good.
Curious to see the results of this thing though.

I saw this thread title and then went to make breakfast while trying to think back on 20 releases from the last decade I liked and was hard-pressed. Then I opened the thread and just there in TES post were a number of albums that I thought, okay yeah those were actually good, as did the rest of the page. However, I never go back and listen to any of them. Maybe some friend put them on when I was at their house, or I heard them on this board, and I thought it was good, but then after that I felt no need to return to it. The only exception on the first page is Live at Primavera by James Ferraro, and was one of the few things I thought of on my own before opening the thread. Does anyone else feel this lack of emotional connection to newer music? This lack is more pronounced particularly with vocal music. I grew up listening to lots of doo-wop, 50's and 60s rnb and soul (from my dad) and new wave (from my older brothers). I hear songs from those periods that I had never heard before and feel connected to them though. I don't mean this to be a "new music sucks" post, because I don't believe that at all. I just don't emotionally attach to it in the same way as I do older forms because of conditioning, and wonder if other people feel this way.
Combarieu declares that the songs of birds are not "musical" either, because they are "very difficult to take down in notation." See his Music-Its Laws and Evolution, 155. Will some divine power please create a "Musical" bird to sing the Air for G String in exact Equal Temperament for M. Combarieu?
