Trusty literally moved to DC just to be on Dischord.

Gray Matter/3 are some crucial mid-80s emocore that gets lost in the shuffle of Rites of Spring/Embrace.

Digging into the half releases can be fun. Vile Cherubs is legit thrashy garage rock.

I heartily recommend the latest Beauty Pill record if you enjoy Smart Went Crazy.

Same with Faraquet and The Effects. Devin Ocampo is such a great guitarist.

It took me a while to get into Lungfish. The Unanimous Hour was the record that did it.

came to post Faraquet. i'm not super tuned in with this stuff so i don't know what would be considered forgotten or revered, but they rip it up

My extremely cool twitter handle is in complete agreement

Big ups to Beauty Pill and Chad in general. Next album should be along soon.

finally, a thread for me

mostly hardcore releases, all engineered by Don Zientara at Inner Ear

featuring Brendan Canty on drums (this is technically a Peterbilt release, but who cares)

split release with DSI records

featuring members of Untouchables, Dead C, Youth Brigade (split release with R&B records)

featuring London May on drums (split release with Druid Hill records)

The Double O 7" is a scorcher.

Candy Machine was kind of a Circus Lupus/Monorchid clone. Not terrible, but you know, not essential.

Half-release with Desoto.

Q and Not U was probably the first "indie rock" band I got into, how are they looked back on?
