Yeah that Philadelphia show absolutely smokes. They've really worked This Place out. Hope "Terry" ends up back in rotation soon. Between those two and Gliding Through, LP4 feels like it's going to be their Marquee Moon.

Going to try to figure out a way to get to tomorrow, but I really only care about seeing them and the cheapest ticket I've found so far was north of 60 bucks. If I knew for certain they were going to play a long set...

Bumping this to say I've really gotten into these dudes over the past month or so. Just got tix to see them here in Chicago in May. $12 is a steal it seems. It's weird because I hate jam bands, but these guys hit me in the right way. Thanks, board.

Also, just announced that they're playing a free show at Union Pool on 3/10 (and were added to the Psychedelic Sangha bill with Sarah Louise next Friday, though I assume everyone here saw that already).

Total Yang has become such a glorious thing. Completely obsessed with it at the moment and some of the more recent versions are really doing the trick.

Yeah this is the first Dire Wolves album that's clicked for me in a big way.

I liked the Six Organs too, some of it had a Jim O'Rourke crossed with Califone vibe, but I haven't felt the urge to come back to it.

i think since like 2002, Chasney/Six Organs is a top 3-5 musician for me, so it's a bit disappointing. it's not his worst record (after only a couple of listens) but it's certainly towards the bottom for me, which sucks considering he no longer puts out 25 things a year.

the elkhorn album, for those who haven't heard it is like vintage Six Organs in sound. the "electric two" suite in particular is like my favorite half of a record this year.

I also think the new Dire Wolves album is the best of the bunch from that session they've released. The Elkhorn album is really solid. Very different sound but the fact that it's just two dudes jamming reminds me a lot of one of my all-time favorites (an album I undoubtedly found through Jeff), the Satwa album:
