indie jam thread
https://garciapeoplesbbib.bandcamp.com/album/one-step-behind there are some NYC-area boarders who have been hitting some of these shows. Talk about said shows here.

Thanks for making the thread VHG. Some hetty footage of the One Step Behind live debut:
VIDEO Really digging the new Wet Tuna album, especially Goin'
VIDEO Not sure if this 100% fits but I love Chuck Johnson's ambient steel pedal stuff and his new album w/ Marielle Jakobsons is a good fall jammer:

tbh I thought that some of the pre-release praise One Step Behind was getting was a little much, but my expectations have easily been exceeded

Yeah I've been listening to this nonstop since Friday. Garcia Peoples may be my favorite new-ish band going right now. Wish they would tour down south
A couple more albums that fit this genre that I've really liked this year: 75 Dollar Bill and One Eleven Heavy
The backyard is bringing me down. And the front one is freaking me out.

Hell yes, this stuff is great. I spent a few days wondering what the Garcias' Heart and Soul track reminded me of. I'm pretty sure it's Oakley Hall's last album I'll Follow You, which totally fits in stylistically with these bands but came a decade too early (or three decades too late I guess).
Cian Nugent is great too, especially his last couple with full band backing. On the Collier end there's Marisa Anderson, Meg Baird/Espers/Heron Oblivion, the most recent Joan Shelley.
The British songwriter in One Eleven Heavy has a much header band called Desmadrados Soldados de Ventura, their last album is a 4lp monster with a bunch of sidelong Deady/Circles Around the Sun type jams:

Not all these bands are jambands but Garcia Peoples totally are IMO, they just have more of a 90s indie influence than the 97 Phish style funk that's more common in the genre. You might be a Conklin-core musician if... Ryan Jewell has drummed for you/you or your bandmates used to play with Matt Valentine/Jesse Jarnow wrote your bandcamp album bio/you've appeared more than 5 times on nyctaper/???

yes to those I probably can't argue in good faith that GP aren't a jamband. But they haven't played two sets yet

One Step Behind is doing it for me way more than any of the live stuff i've heard is (which was good too! just didn't immediately grab me in the same way)

Yeah, Garcia Peoples will be playing two sets soon enough, I imagine. Related to that: Dizzy, it also sounds like you'll be in luck next year, as far as them touring outside of the northeast.
And guy, give the live version of One Step Behind a spin too. They solve the problems it presents as far as not being able to replicate all the overdubs in consistently interesting ways.
Here's the recording of it (sounds a little nicer than the video above):
