New Garcia Peoples is so damn great

I’ve listened to it at least 12 times and it keeps getting better, but I’m still not close to grasping the shape of the album in my mind. Usually by 12 listened to know where all the surprises are, but it’s like the album hypnotizes me and I forget, so it’s different every time. First side has discrete songs but none have anything resembling a conventional structure, second side is like a suite like the one from Cosmic Cash, except more psychedelic, and the songs elude me as quickly as they’re over. Usually this is the sort of thing people hold against albums: “I’ve listened to it six times and I can’t remember any of the song’s.” But here it’s because there is something labyrinthine about the album. While it’s playing, there is not a single dull moment.
