So far at Disney World I’ve felt safer than at work. Had my temperature checked for the first time since this started. Masks not only enforced but properly worn. Not a nose in sight.

Only two worrying spots so far has been the vegan bakery which is way too small and the magic bar at the hotel which while amazingly themed might not be worth the cramped indoor drinking.

So the district has decided the best way to inform teachers of the return to classroom plan is to force us to respond to a survey about whether we will be back in the classroom or take leave before we know any plans on when we will return, what the safety measures might be, and any idea if we’ll be compensated at all if we have inadequate leave.

The principal read her prepared statement like it was her execution and answered no questions because she didn’t know the answer to any of them. Everyone is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. The plan is apparently that parents choose in person on online and we are teaching everyone online but from our classrooms with kids there on their laptops doing the lessons on Teams.

It’s clearly caving to pressure from the loud idiots who don’t give a fuck and want to pawn their kids off on us, health be damned. Apparently word is that they are making masks fucking optional for kids in the classroom.

Had a couple panic attacks and instead of the lesson plan I spent an hour on yesterday we analyzed Cher’s Haiti debate speech and they’re having a catch up day while I silently worry to death.

Cat I'm sorry, that's so stressful. solidarity. I wish there was something I could do to help. like what the fuck. am I understanding right that they're saying you don't have to go in to the classroom but if you don't you have to take PTO or whatever? :(

Haha masks are optional for kids inside this is great also it leaked to the press that were supposed to go back Oct 5 but that info hasn’t been told to us directly but they did send a document not explaining the in person safety protocols completely but mentioning that they spent almost 300k on social distance dots.

“Hershey’s is trying to save Halloween”
Candy company Hershey is doing their best to make sure Halloween happens even during the pandemic, and they are using an interactive online map that assigns each county in the U.S. a code and suggestions for activities based on that code.

Hershey said they worked with public health experts and retailers to create the website to offer advice on how to trick or treat safely in different parts of the country based on the rates of COVID-19 cases in each area.

Every county in the U.S. is assigned either a green, yellow, orange or red code.

Green suggestions:

Regular trick-or-treating with social distancing guidelines
Invite a limited number of guests over for a themed costume party
Participate in a neighborhood trunk or treat to help minimize the close quarters of pathways and porches

Yellow suggestions:

Drive up trick-or-treating where neighbors set up candy curbside
Neighborhood costume parade with a predetermined route marked to maintain safe distances between participants
Throw a face mask decoration party with limited guests

Orange suggestions:

Trick or treat in reverse by having neighbors walk or drive-by and deliver candy to the front yard
Hold a neighborhood candy hunt with social distancing guidelines
Throw a neighborhood driveway pub crawl

Red suggestions:

Throw a Zoom party
Have a Netflix scary movie party on the phone or Zoom where everyone starts the scary movie at the same time
Take family porch photos
Create a Halloween piñata with just your family in the back yard
Have a costume Halloween dinner with your family

this is probably more in response to the reality of that 2024 report where the entire world wont get it until then--- we need to brace ourselves for the fact that we may need to wait years to get our own personal vaccine shot
