for one, you're not going to approach 75% vaccination without approvals for under 16

got pfizer dose II yesterday, was feeling groovy.

woke up this morning like I slept for a couple of hours in a cramped karaoke booth after going out on the town with some enthusiastic tokyo salarymen. oof. much better than actually getting Covid I'm sure. we'll see how long this lasts.

got dose 2 pfizer yesterday too

was sitting in the office feeling clammy last night when my partner came in the room. I asked if I looked sweaty and she said she could see the beads forming on my forehead lol

feeling decent this morning except that I think the shot was administered too high cuz my shoulder joint is like fuckin dead. I think she knew she fucked it up cuz she apologized immediately after poking me. felt like it touched bone. :?

Just got the Moderna dose 1, boarding while doing my 15 minute wait. :D

My wife got the Pfizer dose 1 a few days ago and had zero side effects, hoping I get as lucky but mostly just so glad I’m getting this.

Is there a way to hide threads from the "view your posts" list and/or move this to sensitive topics? I feel like I'm hurting myself evey time I read it, which I realize is not anybody else's problem or responsibility but it still sucks.

combined with the data manipulation I dunno how regulators are gonna feel like approving it in the USA, not that it really matters for our supply, but it could cause some regulatory problems down the line

Terribly! Every week my parents are like. Next week they're going to include Chronic Illnesses.

This week they finally did... but not Type 1 Diabetes, even after every Endocrinologist says that we are at a severe risk for complications.

I'm done with this province. I'm so done. I'm leaving as soon as this is over. Coming to Ontario broodstar let's hang out.

i read this quote and it's not good for AZ

Bernd Salzberger, MD, head of infectious diseases, University Hospital Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany, told the Science Media Center: "In women, a complicated course of COVID disease is less common from the start and is so rare in younger women that the chance of avoiding a fatal course through vaccination in women without comorbidities is of the same order of magnitude as the risk of this rare side effect."

i think limiting the scope to young women could be an oversight too. the vaccine data they have is impacted by an oversample of healthcare workers who are more likely to be women.

here are the numbers Germany had as of last week:

The German regulatory agency, the Paul Ehrlich Institute, reported this week that it has now registered 31 cases of CVST among nearly 2.7 million people who had received the vaccine in Germany. Of these patients, 19 also were found to have a deficiency of blood platelets or thrombocytopenia. Nine of the affected patients died. All but two of the cases occurred in women aged 20 to 63 years. The two men were 36 and 57 years old.

CVST is life-threatening so it's tough to keep all of this in perspective vs fighting the pandemic

pulled everything from this medpage article (which links to the preprint that has supposedly ID'ed the mechanics of the clotting):

See above - really, really struggling. (Haven't gotten the thread blocking extension to work yet lol.) It will pass and some of it will turn out to be growth but whoa baby it does not feel good to be alive right now.
