i use 3 parts water 1 part kava (by volume) and i use about 8 fl oz of water.

are you using this? https://www.bulakavahouse.com/collectio ... ava-powder
that's the one i use and it works for me
that site also has a stronger one if you've tried that and it's not doing the trick

the scrump place i ordered it from says there is a phenomenon similar to weed wherein first time users may not experience effects the way say fifth or tenth time users do. is this true in anybody's experience

Reverse tolerance

It's apparently a thing with kava although I never experienced it

It's also a nonsensical phrase that poorly describes the phenomenon

nathan you should get this one and tell me if it's good: https://www.bulakavahouse.com/collectio ... ava-powder

A kava connoisseur’s kava powder, Nambawan is the perfect kava to enjoy in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. With a strong, complex flavor and full bodied consistency, Nambawan isn’t for first time kava drinkers.

We don’t recommend drinking large amounts of this powerful variety quickly, it carries that potent a punch. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya! Found on a trip taken to Vanuatu by Bula Kava House owner Judd Rench, this kava is available only while supplies last!

i'm afraid it's too strong

the new kava bar downtown has a pretty chill scene going on. lots of dogs, a pirate with a parrot, and a projector playing anime to ambient house music. I drank like 6 bowls of kava and felt kinda nauseous but it was cool. much better than a regular bar experience.

It's not that much stronger but it tastes much less bad. It's probably worth the price difference for that alone.

Oh did you not get anything out of it round one? I think the "reverse tolerance" can take up to a week before you get it.

Alternately maybe someone just sold you soil

alright i hand prepped this batch, because i think blending made the last one too hot.

pinched my nose and skulled it, then chased with orange juice. MUCH more manageable.

nah it had a way bigger kick to it than I was expecting first time round. no reverse tolerance here, unless it's going to slowly get even stronger. also the stuff I got doesn't even taste that bad? i mean it's not great but it doesn't taste like dirt, just a shitty tea or something. last night's was ideal really. next time I'll try making it extra strong because i've only been using a couple of tablespoons so far.

If I had to sum up the kava/kratom experience in one phrase, I would liken it to standing underneath a rainbow that’s filling you with all of the best emotions on earth…all at once.

Hm

Alright!
