At a Hollywood Cemetery screening of Jaws awhile back my friends and I were chilling on a bunch of blankets when a group of four people came in right as the movie started and set full sized lawn chairs down right in front of us. You're only supposed to have blankets and short lawn chairs for screenings so my friends tried to calm the situation by offering some of our blankets/short chairs. They rudely declined and continued sitting in their big ass chairs. I was insanely annoyed (and slightly inebriated) so I continually heckled them until they finally gave up and moved.

I forget what exactly I was yelling at them but it was dumb shit like "Oh tight, this is my favorite movie, Aws!"

Later on my buddy tried to sit on a Styrofoam cooler and completely decimated it.

when i was a late-night pedicabber i did this all the time, especially when i had passengers because they tipped better when i called someone out. mostly by yelling NO BRAKES WATCH OUT at drunk idiots crossing the street then having a laugh at their reactions

i don't do it so much anymore bc i really don't enjoy arguing with these pieces of shit. i've only been punched once and it was a sucker punch bullshit thing.

some asshole on my corner about a month ago walks right by a garbage can and drops his cheeto bag or whatever on the ground like 3 yards from it and i called him out. he turns around and says all menacingly "WHAT DID YOU SAY" - i said "you heard what i said and you know what you did was scummy, pick that shit up the ground is not yr trash can"

but he looked like he actually might fight me so i kept walking at a brisk pace and stopped engaging. i can't tell you how many utter jerkoffs i have reprimanded on the subway for their reprehensible behavior and i used to find it fun when they somehow had something to say to defend themselves but like i said, i don't generally bother as much anymore.

and also have to admit i am snickering a bit at the "junior investment banker" sticking out at 14th street - this is not 1967, 14th street is like petco and whole foods and i'm sure the rents are very high if you haven't lived there for decades. it's basically an extension of murray hill at this point right? but whatever helps you sleep at night

This was years ago I lived in alphabet city and that Whole Foods is like 4 avenues (2 subway stops) away. The petcos even further if I’m thinking of the same one.

Seeing someone in a suit in the east village is rare or at least it was ~6 years ago no idea anymore.

Scolding strangers is my shit. I've been going off on people not wearing masks lately. I love telling people to get the fuck out of the way of entrance/exits of public transport too.

So basically it's a hand of poker where you have to project enough investment or crazy that the person you're calling out acquiesces out of insecurity or fear.
jockesh or jakesh in farsi means pimp and unlike american in farsi pimp is a big insult and commonly applied to scoundrels and bad people like bush jr and i dont know of a word for actual jocks i dont think its a thing in iran but also anyway i wanted to say i believe in nothing
