this is the first thing i think of when i think of limbaugh and it still pisses me off, lol. the second thing i think of is him suggesting that the gulf coast oil spill was intentionally caused by leftists.
ugh and he really helped set the blue print for the Trump double speak. we don't know that radical leftists DIDN'T cause the oil spill. also, the gulf naturally seeps oil and it's not a bad thing.
I couldn'T keep myself from making a comment on the CNN report of his death on youtube knowing damn well that while i do mean it, it was also a huge troll. Many conservatives triggered already. Or maybe fucking liberals telling you about the sanctity of life. hey you want my respect in death? how about you be a decent human being in your lifetime. No you chose to be consistently shitty and awful and as such lose your right to respect and dignity.
Someone dying doesn't suddenly make them less shitty. I hated him alive, i still hate him dead (but glad i won't have to spend one more second of my life thinking about him). To express anything else would be hypocrisy.
I must insist on being a pessimist, I'm a loner in a catastrophic mind
His hearing loss was possibly attributed to his opiate addiction. He never admitted that though and courted plenty of sympathy from his dumb listeners at the time.
this is so bonkers to me like i can't imagine bragging about this if my political hero was actually rush limbaugh i'd go and read a book and try and like at least pretend it was someone not totally embarrassing?

a teenage rush limbaugh fanatic is just someone who hasn't figured out any other way to get their dad to love them right or am i missing something here

"You don't rush limbAUGH!" - God getting a hand cramp while simultaneously putting the finishing touches on Rush's limbic system and explaining his process to a coworker

He had no discernable charisma, at least not the kind that would appeal to most impressionable listeners
i dunno, i can kind of see the appeal, in a fucked up way. i know that colbert always said that the basis of the fictional colbert was o'reilly but it always seemed more limbaugh to me. the constant narcissistic self-praise and personal lifestyle branding always reminded me of rush- the golden microphone, "excellence in broadcasting" network, "talent on loan from god," "with half my brain tied around my back," the cigars, golf, the menswear company, the way the call-in segments are built around cherry-picking callers who spend most of their time talking about how brilliant he was, etc.- and i think that kind of macho, almost tony soprano-style energy was as big a part of his appeal as the specific politics.
that kind of arrogant swagger is a huge turn-off for me and presumably most of the people who post here but there are a lot of people who really like that kind of crap.
