VIDEO A brilliant artist and deeply troubled soul The story about him rapping so hard (and getting signed) that the wires on his broken jaw flew off is inspiring

shit is fucked. also fucked of nore for having him on drink champs. How could you call yourself a friend of someone who is widely known to have problems with addiction and have them on that show??? hope he somehow makes it thru this. saw him in concert a couple years ago finally. one of the first rappers I ever got into. they’re doing a vigil for him at 5pm but white plains is kinda far from Brooklyn.

Still in a coma :/
A lamp with a white shade was knocked over and broken. Someone was smoking pot. “This is the pot room!” a young man said.

just want to echo this, one of DMX's main appeals is how transparent he was on media and in his music about his addictions. there are bangers for sure but he was seriously prolific. I had kids in my rural farm town high school playing his cassettes in the 90s.

grew up listening to dmx. dude had such an amazing over the top intensity that was somehow matched by a transparent earnestness. that mixed with some great production and willingness to do some weird things led to some amazing music that i could never believe existed. RIP.
