Absolutely not and will never. Fuck that.
And I live in the hot air balloon capital on the US (I think...I don't really know).

hell no. Isn't there a boarder who knew people who died in a hot air balloon accident that was caught on tape and made national news?

There have been a few deaths here at Balloon Fiesta, including as recently as 2008.

Yeah I went in one in Cappadocia in Turkey. It was fun. I don't like heights and they went very high but it felt more secure than I expected. There are tons of balloons there and the pilots were all taking them down among the rock formations and the balloons were squeezing against each other which felt like the most scary part

I also went on one in Cappadocia and it was fun as hell and not at all scary. There was only one balloon company at that time though which is insane given how many there are now. I am not sure I would go nowadays with all the traffic.
I can't remember how far we went. I think we were up for like 90 minutes. If I recall correctly, basically the pilot can control the altitude pretty precisely, but the wind determines where you go. So they have a van following the balloon and when it lands they drive the passengers back to town.

Yes, a very packed wooden basket. I've got a photo in the basket just before going up where I look a bit hungover but excited, whereas my pal looks sick with fear. We went up just before dawn and saw the sunrise over the landscapes with was very cool:

I don't really remember all the details because it was around 8 years ago, but the pilots were all dicking around pushing the balloons against each other, and towards the end our pilot took it as high as he could. I think we were maybe in the air for an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I remember coming into landing the pilot is radioing about where he thought it was going and all these jeeps are speeding below us racing to the spot to meet us. The basket took a big bump then spilled over when we landed, then we all had a glass of champagne then jumped in the jeeps to go back to wherever we started from. I'd do it again!
