mad max fury road seems like a glaring omission from the list
I look at bluegrass music as this sort of glowing ball. The point is to relax the technique around the glowing ball of feeling.

last time i rewatched this, i hadn't remembered max's flashbacks/visions, which are a little goofy in a way the rest of the movie isn't imo, but somehow for me i still don't think that's enough to ding it as imperfect

rbk i agree but i look at those parts as being there just to serve as like a vague continuity with the other mad max movies and yeah maybe they're the most self-conscious and awkward things about it, but i also see why they kind of need to be there

Rewatched Beetle Juice recently and I think it meets this category. It’s not overly ambitious but it’s a unique concept and the casting is perfect

Also has no one said Tremors in this thread

beetlejuice is a good candidate

I like fury road but road warrior (mad max 2) is the more platonically perfect mad max movie imo

The Good The Bad and The Ugly is a perfect movie.

I agree on the condition I can drink 3 tall glasses of whiskey while I watch.

Next up is Galaxy Quest.

It's rare that I want to revisit and see movies more than once but I'll gladly sit down and rewatch these:

Zulu
Children Of Men
Blade Runner
Aliens
A Clockwork Orange

I think future dystopias are my thing

I don't get why Aliens got taken off the list. There was never a vote for it was there?

I kinda soft-vetoed Alien but it should still come up for a vote. Aliens also but haven't gotten there yet.

I just edited a post on the 1st page to list all the movies already voted on, to help us keep track.

Galaxy Quest is not a perfect movie.

Honestly kinda surprised by that one.

Next up: Rushmore

Bump.

Rushmore hasn’t seen much action. Plenty of room for the poll to shift.

i do hate that it's a thread about low level quality movies that are inoffensive enough for no one to complain

my impression of movies doesn't usually change but the last time i watched rushmore max fischer felt like the grossest character, made the whole thing unpleasant to watch. its like the origin story of a director cancelled by #metoo last summer.

It was a close one but, Rushmore is not perfect.

Maybe Wes Anderson will get another at bat.

Next up, The Princess Bride.
