Yeah since this is all over maybe we can workshop how to do a better job of making fun of her name for next time? I'm thinkin "grabby" could be a good angle

reading about the Daniel Robinson disappearance now, I think someone mentioned him early in the thread

super sketchy shit. he was just driving home from work and goes missing and his car is discovered in a ravine way off the road. deserts are terrifying.

S3 of True Detective was kinda disappointing but portraying the podcast true-crime sleuths as annoying inconsiderate psychos was a good call at least

On December 26, Constable Alfred King and Special Constable Joe Bernard, each of whom had a considerable northern experience, trekked the 60 miles (97 km) to Johnson's cabin to ask him about the allegations. Seeing smoke coming from the chimney, they approached the hut to talk. Johnson refused to talk to them, however, seeming to not even notice them. King looked into the cabin window, at which point Johnson placed a sack across it.

I'm picturing this play out and loling

i guess i haven’t experienced the other side of it, being a family member or friend of a missing person. i don’t actively try to solve developing cases or participate in communities that do, so maybe im not aware of the darker aspects of that

idk too thoroughly the specifics of like, the law, like if authorities had a specific right to question her boyfriend or if he was perfectly allowed to refuse that. it was pretty frustrating watching the one news clip ive seen of this though, not sure how long ago it was but her father was seemingly completely unsure of who could’ve done it, and the news coverage itself skewed that way. seems like law enforcement dropped the ball on this one and it would’ve been better off in the hands of internet true crime hobbyists but maybe that’s too idealistic of me

will a conviction and prison sentence for their daughter’s boyfriend that killed her bring any sort of closure or peace to her family members, i don’t really know. i don’t even believe in the prison system but a person that killed their girlfriend has definitely done a very bad thing and… yeah. idk the rest truthfully but that much im sure of

re: daniel robinson

it seriously took them a month to find his car? it's clearly visible from the air. they're never going to find the body in that case
