and all the inside job conspiracy theories. the pilot episode is written around a plot to crash a 747 into the world trade center to boost the US war machine. this episode aired march 4th, 2001

the idea of a plane hitting the world trade center isn't exactly an original one so it's really nothing more than a coincidence but damn

So FOX executives took one of their plots and made it happen in real life, to increase support for cancelling the show

They were fun for occasional flavor on the x files but their own show fell apart quickly

It'd be cool if the lone gunman of thread was Lee Harvey Oswald

It's easy to predict things if you also plan and execute them.

i'm not arguing that their little cancelled series isn't incredibly flawed but they're good characters and their show didn't fall apart because they couldn't carry it

This was the biggest shock of rewatching the show - the Lone Gunmen weren't as prominent as I remembered and much more boring, the episodes where they took the lead (vs. just popping in to help, like Mulder time traveling to the Bermuda Triangle) were rough.

Yeah it fell apart because they planned and executed the 9/11 attacks on the world trade center.

Which is what I said

People would have forgiven them for 9/11 if their show had been better.

this is largely because the writing was falling off at this point. i honestly think they're strong characters

that braidwood was that good and also assistant director for almost 60 episodes the x-files is pretty wil. i think he deserves a ton of credit for helping to maintain the look and feel of the show
