It truly is, but they have such a staggering roster of talent. I mean there are wrestlers I still go out of my way to watch there. The Daniel Bryan/Adam Cole match from a few weeks ago was incredible, for example. Pretty conflicting.

Io, Asuka and Kairi are three of the best things going in the WWE. Love watching them work. So talented and lovable. Last night was tough to watch, she tweeted a thumbs up though so hopefully she’s ok.

Someone posted this in a Japanese wrestling Facebook group. Geez... Necro looks about 30 years older than he is.

Based on the 2014 dated picture on his wikipedia page, he appears to have aged 200 years in 5.

Today, NOAH had Takashi Sugiura & Kazushi Sakuraba vs Hideki Suzuki & Kazuyuki Fujita. Maybe it would've been better about a decade earlier, but as is, it's still 100% the kind of match I watch wrestling for.

The whole (f'n) show is free on NOAH's Youtube.

The goofy double champion storyline pretty much killed any interest I would've had in Wrestle Kingdom. Ospreay/Takahashi should be cool though, and Liger's retirement will be historically significant if nothing else.

I'm more excited for the NOAH show running against the first night of WK, strong card especially Nakajima/Elgin and Kiyomiya/Shiozaki. Just in general I've been enjoying NOAH more than NJPW this year.

eh the matches are still gonna be good even if the double gold dash aspect makes the stakes feel a bit lower. Okada vs Ibushi has potential to be MOTY, and then the possibility of Okada vs Naito on night 2?

Hiromu vs Ospreay will be incredible, Moxley vs Archer will be cool if it ends with Suzuki vs Moxley being confirmed for night 2. the Stardom tag match and Tana vs Jericho will be fun, Sanada vs ZSJ should be great. all three days of Liger retirement celebrations will be nice. leaving tomorrow for Tokyo and going to DDT tag tournament on New Year's Eve. can't wait!

Ospreay/Hiromu is prob the match I'm most looking forward to.

I would be more into Ibushi/Okada without the double title stop. I wish they'd just work with Omega because if it was Naito/Omega, same stops, it'd be so perfect.

The Liger retirement matches are super disappointing. Wish Sabre was better represented too.

Moxley/Archer Texas Death Match is fun but Juice getting a shot at the winner seems like it's setting up to just get him back to the title.

Tana vs Jericho seems like a throw away.

There's several folks, in spite of two nights, who seem forgotten about including Suzuki and Takagi.

All that said: they'll probably be very fun shows.

The first hour of Raw has been... good.

Helps that they did a **** Murphy/Black match but the opening bit with Owens/Joe vs AOP/Rollins was very solid.

It was taped after Smackdown, so, sadly, it isn't happening on Steve Harvey's Time Square set.

Time for Wrestle Kingdom! Signed up for njpwworld again, after Naito specifically asked me if I watched NJPW legally during a meet and greet. Now I am, mate... but I'm rooting for Okada all weekend!

The cards do look gutted from splitting them into two shows. They're wasting so much talent with those eight man tag team matches on night one. And for Suzuki, Shingo or Taichi there's no pay-off on night two either.

Anyway, as usual, I haven't been paying much attention post-G1. Looking forward to the big matches on these cards.

Fucking thing starts at 8 in the morning here what the hell.

Seeing all these dudes having a good time on the puroresu Facebook groups makes me want to go to Japan so bad. But I'd want to go in like July, just to avoid those same people. They're really into making their own myths... "wow my buddy thought he saw Masanobu Fuchi on the bullet train but it was just an old dude this was EPIC".

But so bittersweet at the same time, gonna cry so hard this weekend

Long post incoming, apologies in advance.
When I first started stepping outside the bubble of WWF back in the day, his WCW matches completely captivated me. The look, the style, everything was just so different & I was hooked immediately. Only ever followed his New Japan stuff in one-off match formats in the early days when I stubled across them, but his first ROH appearances against Danielson in 2004 reignited that love & I hunted down everything I could find from that point on. Legit one of my all time favourites.

I think the 2002/2003 tag match series between Liger and Kikuchi are my favorites. They have massive crowd heat, interpromotional hatred and Liger heeling it up like crazy.

Also there's some great matches where he actively pisses off monsters like Vader and Minoru Suzuki. He even kicked Vader's steam helmet once!

I have a soft spot for the 2016 match against KUSHIDA, I think just prior to the Super Jrs that year. I only started watching NJPW for the 2016 WK so it was my first (live) singles match I saw of Liger's and thought it was just great and couldnt believe it was a 51yo

man, Ibushi was insane

I thought the structure of both matches dragged them down a bit, White/Naito particularly. I thought Jay White did a pretty good job but babyface Naito selling his knee is just not something that excites me. Ibushi had the same dominance as White which made it clear Okada was gonna win, but my god, I was not expecting Ibushi to perform like that. Ibushi giving himself a piledriver was classic Ibushi, but the kicks to Okada in the corner were next level.

Only got a chance to watch Jay White/Naito, Okada/Ibushi and the main event from last night. All varying degrees of awesome. I know Ospreay/Hiromu is a must view, but how were Mox/Archer and Tana/Jericho??

Mox/Archer was good, it didn't run as long as I was expecting, which I think was a good thing.
Tana/Jericho seemed fine, but I wasn't that interested going in.

I would have liked something more from Kenta/Goto, but I guess we did get something..
