Daniels' last serious botch was 20 years ago. Nasty as shit. Right on his fuckin head:

But yeah he's like one of the safest workers ever and has been around forever. Also thought for a few seconds the guy in the video commenting on his botch was Sami Callihan.

We forgive him.

Apparently Jay Freddie landed badly on his head last night at Uncharted Territory. Not sure how that shook out but they were relieved that he was conscious.

He was extremely lucky. Hayabusa got paralysed in similar fashion.

Some wrestling evening thoughts:

Naomichi Marufuji vs The Great Muta was somehow even worse than I imagined it could be.

Suzuki & Kea vs SUWAMA & Kondo was kind of a letdown. The Destroyer memorial show seemed to be poorly attended and SUWAMA can't do a hate filled brawl. I remember a feud he had with maybe Kono a few years ago and it was also the kind of slow-motion out of control fight this was. Also a pet peeve in Japan: where they go straight to the finish after the announcer mentions time elapsed.

Terry Funk is up there with the very best ever.

There are few pairings possible I less want to see in a TLC match than Corbin and Reigns

I wonder if this means they're going another way with Lynch/Charlotte vs Kabuki Warriors program

Miz/Wyatt is pretty ehhh, as well

TLC's card is apparently not announced because Vince thinks knowing the card ahead of time is only useful for ticket sales and PPV buys and you can wait longer with Network only shows because they're all about day of. Per the Observer. Same reason they didn't announce the Team NXT folks for SurSeries apparently.

I think you could put together a very fun TLC show with the programs they're running atm:

Becky/Charlotte vs Kabuki Warriors TLC for tag titles
Orton vs AJ vs McIntyre vs Ricochet vs Rey vs Andrade Ladder Match for the US Title
Bryan vs Wyatt for WWE Title
Reigns, Shorty G & Ali vs Corbin, Ziggler & Roode Elimination Tables Match
Rusev vs Lashley, Last Man Standing
Seth vs Owens
New Day vs Revival for tag titles
Viking Raiders vs Anderson & Gallows for tag titles
Black vs Murphy

Kickoff
Sasha/Bayley vs Lacey/mystery partner

Instead, we have Reigns vs Corbin in a TLC and Wyatt/Miz

Garza/Rush to open NXT was fucking terrific. One of the best NXT matches of the year.

Garza got charisma coming out of his ass. Dude's been killing it since his debut.

I hope Dakota Kai is okay after that post match spot. That was scary as hell.

hey dudes,

I know some of you have listened to 1 or 2 of the first episodes of the new podcast - World Wrestling Fantasia. Episode 3 came out earlier this week, and it's a 2019 recap episode. The 4 people on the call draft matches that took place in 2019 with the idea of making a "mixtape" (download link at the bottom of this post).

It's a fun way to recap the year and hopefully y'all find some new shit you didn't see.

Your catch-all catch-up for wrestling in 2019

Hello to all the new listeners! Fresh off the exciting WON HOF Draft episode, we wrap up 2019, looking back at some of the best and most memorable matches of the year. Make sure to follow @wwfantasia on twitter for video companions!

In this third episode, Andy is joined by some of his online wrestling pals to look at some of their favorite matches of the year. The 4 of them draft 6 matches each that took place in 2019, but as an added twist, a wrestler can only appear ONCE - AND - they are tasked with drafting while keeping in mind they will be making a mixtape/comp. tape when all is said and done. Everything in-ring is to be kept under 2 hours total. This was a BLAST to record and really grabbed from all the major wrestling regions.

Guest 1 - Dylan Fox (@dylanzerosky) is co-host of the Eastern Lariat podcast on the MLW network as well as the Lucha Talk podcast. He has been a big influence on me over the years, helping many lesser known matches from around the world get the exposure they deserve.

Guest 2 - Gerard Di Trolio is a legit writer and researcher in this crazy world of 2019, but uses his leisure time to become one of the western experts on AJPW and other promotions. He has written many GREAT reviews and articles for Voices of Wrestling this year.

Guest 3 - Ricardo Gallegos (@TheUnderWally) has only recently made his English-language podcast debuts on the VOW network and elsewhere, but is quick becoming a strong voice of lucha libre and japanese wrestling from Mexico City. Ricardo is someone I have loved getting to know in the past year - follow him above or, if you speak spanish @LuchaJobbers

The rules are simple: A snake draft in 6 rounds, the guys draft with a “2-hour mixtape” in mind. If you’re looking for 40-minute NJPW epics, look elsewhere! Make sure to follow the podcast on twitter @wwfantasia for video downloads!

This episode was a blast to record, so have fun listening!

-Andy (@wwfantasia)

Man I feel terrible for Kairi Sane. Her and Asuka are so damn likable. Didnt see the match but saw the clip where she got concussed and apparently she kept bumping throughout the match. If so, terrible call.

Edit: to be clear I terrible call by WWE mgmt

Didn’t watch any of it and it sounds like it was awful as expected.

It seems like Charlotte was very unsafe from the clips that I saw. And apparently they teased a match between the revival and Harlem heat? That sounds like something I’d enjoy.

Reports are Becky tried to get the match ended early because of how hurt Kairi was. Becky and Asuka ended improvising the entire second half of the match.

It truly is, but they have such a staggering roster of talent. I mean there are wrestlers I still go out of my way to watch there. The Daniel Bryan/Adam Cole match from a few weeks ago was incredible, for example. Pretty conflicting.

Io, Asuka and Kairi are three of the best things going in the WWE. Love watching them work. So talented and lovable. Last night was tough to watch, she tweeted a thumbs up though so hopefully she’s ok.

Based on the 2014 dated picture on his wikipedia page, he appears to have aged 200 years in 5.

Today, NOAH had Takashi Sugiura & Kazushi Sakuraba vs Hideki Suzuki & Kazuyuki Fujita. Maybe it would've been better about a decade earlier, but as is, it's still 100% the kind of match I watch wrestling for.

The whole (f'n) show is free on NOAH's Youtube.

The goofy double champion storyline pretty much killed any interest I would've had in Wrestle Kingdom. Ospreay/Takahashi should be cool though, and Liger's retirement will be historically significant if nothing else.

I'm more excited for the NOAH show running against the first night of WK, strong card especially Nakajima/Elgin and Kiyomiya/Shiozaki. Just in general I've been enjoying NOAH more than NJPW this year.
