Naming one of these bands as "best" sort of suggests you think the others are somehow inferior or worse but these are mostly all just great bands. It's probably faust for me (maybe?) because of how punk they are, their longevity and their consistency. True lifers dedicated to weird music. Can are also just a seemingly bottomless well of good material to mine. Even popol vuh for example have like a hundred albums and no really bad ones. And then there's Neu.

I remember early 90s before everything got reissued and there was no internet making everything available and one of my friends says have you ever heard Neu and I said no of course not, how do you hear that without paying a lot of money for a record, and he said well i got my friend in the UK to record an album of theirs to cassette for me (i don't remember which one it was) and he put it on and that was a real holy shit moment.
