anyone with a wahoo having issues lately? Been great for years, and this latest firmware update is a mess — it keeps refusing to connect, I have to unpair the app and phone, re-pair everything, restart the roam, and then hope it works every time I ride.

Slippery slope, chaps. After a solid 8 days of crappy weather, I drove to work for the first time in my life today...

Same here. Didn't seem too bad until I stopped and instantly formed a layer of sweat that covered my entire body

i've inherited my dad's old 1990 specialized sirrus and am giving it a real deep clean and lube. quite a few scratches on the frame and fork so i'm planning to polish and wax this thing too. anyone here have experience with that? searching around says i'm fine using turtlewax car stuff, but i wanted to check in here to see if anyone has any tips

childhood me grew up thinking this was the absolute pinnacle of bike machinery so i want to care for it best i can

I googled it and that looks like a cool ride. What color is yours?

You gotta spend some time on the mechanics or is it in pretty good order?

This fucking heat is killing me. The morning ride into work at 4:30am is a delight but ten hours of manual labor followed with riding home in near 90 degree heat is leaving me too exhausted to do anything at home. Dropping pounds like nothing else though, so there’s that.

I had to deal with a lot of groups of Freds Saturday, need to start riding @ 330am. Is there some kinda etiquette to dealing with giant packs of serious road cyclists who make it this really performative gesture to pass you, then slow down? I had like 15 dudes yelling down a chain of bikers they were passing me, then slowed down heavy, I passed them and just grinded to stay away from them. Am I being a dick, somehow?

Sweet bike. Lugged steel bikes should've stayed the standard imo

Is that rx100 on there? 105?

My dad had a similarly equipped (and huge!) Japanese roadbike from the 80s that I also saw as godlike when I was a kid. It was the first road bike I ever rode. And I still love riding it when I go home.

i scrubbed down and degreased the chainrings and derailleur and they look fantastic. headset and bottom bracket move very well and i'm thinking that i may not need to overhaul them just yet as i'd originally planned to

the level of care i'm willing to give to this one makes me feel a little guilty about the beautiful old steel road bikes i've mutilated over the years, turning them into beater single-speeds or frankenstein bikes. oh well

Aww man, this is why i don't drive... gf picked me up after work and i drove home with the old touring / grocery bike on the roof. Baby started crying on the way home so i was a bit rushed getting home... and of course the bike collided with the garage...

The rack and the garage are both ok but i busted the bikes brake levers and the front fork :( lucky neither should be particularly expensive to replace

x-post from “fuck cars” thread

but was he wearing a helmet?

DETROIT, MI – On Tuesday, June 30th, 2020, at approximately 10:50 p.m., in the 400 block of E. Jefferson, a 24-year-old man was shot and killed by a female bicyclist near the RenCen. This is believed to be an incident of Road Rage.

The 24 year old man was driving a 2006 Land Rover when he was involved in an incident with two bicyclists. The victim exited the vehicle and approached the two bicyclists while he was armed. One of the bicyclists, a 28-year-old woman and a valid a CPL holder, fired a shot, striking the victim, fatally wounding him.

I've thought about concealed carry on the bike before

That feeling you get when someone purposefully tries to fuck with you assures me you'd be using it at some point

Wonder if they'll throw the book at her
