I’ll know they are truly committed to having a complete archive once they add the Pablo era MTV pool party vid

I don't think that'll happen until one of them is dead or something.

Like, when you're releasing albums 5-6 years apart from each other and already pursuing your own projects between records what's the point of "officially" breaking up? I feel like they've been pretty honest that getting together is just an itch for them, so while passing ideas around back and forth sporadically eventually the the urge to scratch the itch becomes too much and that's when they get together again.

yeah i'd not expect a new album from them until at least 2023 or something. maybe 2 albums this decade?

(fyi i've outed myself as psychic in another thread today so i'd read into this as a fairly accurate prediction rather than just speculation)

ah word

I am actually Kid A himself so we should connect and see if we can psychically manifest a desired album timeline into the Radiohead guys' minds. You on LinkedIn?

the funny thing about Bonnaroo '06 is that of the 4 'Head shows i had seen in the weeks leading up to it, it was easily my least favorite. i'm sure that's down to the ones in Upper Darby and NYC being in much smaller theaters, but my main memory of the 'Roo is that the giant screens on the side that were meant to show the band so that folks in the sea of humanity could actually see the band were malfunctioning for the first hour or so and i was just really stressed about it.

wow holy shit . i was at this show and i remember hearing they'd release a film of it shortly after. i've been waiting 13 years for them to finally do it

aside from prince, this was probably the best live show i've ever seen. i was lucky to be in the first few rows for this. (at 10 am when they opened the doors to the stage, i sprinted for the front and stayed there until the head went on at 8 pm lol.)

I was at the show but never saw the video. will be a nice watch since I was dehydrated and had a headache by the time they played. enjoyed it though!

i love the bonnaroo "arpeggi" so much. i love the album take too, however long it took me to get there without reservations, but i wish it had some of that distortion on it.

that's pretty neat! sounds slower than bonnarroo yeah/ more the studio version tempo? i can't remember off the top of my head

the live version just has this nervous energy like it's gonna fall apart and i love it

maybe they genuinely lack affection for it but it would be cool if they'd launch into the early version of videotape occasionally just as a fun diversion. i feel like bands are in a unique position to do stuff like that and it's a shame it doesnt happen more often. that said, id take a live debut of anything they've never played live first

i am in a band with some folks and the sort of lack of excitement about older songs or unused things can be very frustrating if you aren't the type to get over something in the same way

iirc the Head said something about really trying to capture that song on recording and it wasn't working out right or whatever, so you'd think they'd still kinda wanna revisit, but then i also could just be misremembering entirely

Yeah Thom “cherishes” the band and they would only break up “over his dead body.”

They’re gonna take long breaks between albums and reconvene only when everyone feels like it. I don’t think they’re ever going to formally call it quits.
