my kids were really into the short on netflix this morning. i picked my 6yo daughter up from camp an hour ago and Traffic came on and she said 'daddy, this is the dancing song from the movie this morning! i love this music and the singing. this is my new favorite singer!'
im not sure if this stoinks or not stoinks is probly a strong word in this case
pleasant enough but will probly forget this came out slightly surprised by the BNM - pretty solid 7ish tranche for me. maybe the BNM from 2019 p4k means it was a good week of press lol

i'm not saying it's particularly trippy, just like, he's really stuck on this vibe. like "close your eyes, and get ready, guys"
If the Modeselektor/FlyLo/AFP club bleepsbloops period was ecstasy then this is his microdosing period
It's comforting to think that somewhere unfathomably far away incomprehensible beings are possibly having some kind of subjective experience of a world that possibly observes basically the same laws as our own
I’m speechless after watching it just now. Got chills during Dawn Chorus. The visuals and choreography on it are unreal. Excited for more PTA/Head collaborations in the future If they keep happening.

Absolutely.
I only got a chance to listen to the album once this morning on a walk but looking forward to listening to it again on my morning walk tomorrow.
I guess I've written so many hundreds of words about 'head related stuff in the past I can't be bothered giving a real lengthy appraisal of this album
after a few listens it sounds very cool, and would make excellent soundtrack/library music, but I can't ever see myself wanting to listen to it in a 'I wanna hear some songs' way like I do with proper 'head tracks
I think it's probably his best and most interesting sounding solo record and way better than atoms for peace or modern boxes I think we're too far separated from the eraser for me to make a comparison beyond 'that one sounds like that and this one sounds like this'
My listening experience in balanced mode reveals the great depth of EARTH
On a first run through the track that made the biggest impression was Last I Heard (...He Was Circling the Drain)
Felt like there were a good amount of recycled ideas on here - backwards tape sounds as the backbone to the beat, the gurgling, cacophony of voices, the echoed vocals that trail off almost aimlessly, etc. I guess that's an uncharitable way of putting it - maybe rather it felt like there were lots of ideas he had before that he took in different directions, which is actually kinda cool to be able to hear - Radiohead songs filtered through a slightly different lens
great news everyone! i'll be revisiting ALL solo Thom releases today then posting a FULL RANKING of Radiohead and Thom solo albums COMBINED later today
pretty hard to choose between HTTT and AMSP actually. i see those albums flaws as really different because HTTT is very uneven and has some songs i really can't get into but some i really love while all of AMSP is nice enough but there are no standouts.
i can't really rank Susperia as it doesn't feel like a head release. rightly or wrongly, i can't really think of anything as part of the 'headverse when thom's vocals aren't a big part of it.
if i included b-sides then amnesiac would be above OKC
