i haven't stopped being able to listen to reverse chronological order pt 1 since i realized it sounds like standing outside a broken phone booth
also i like imagining brenda and eddie from the reverse chronological series being becky and steven from twin peaks season 3
also also i love that there's a hot couch line on pt 2:
remember when eddie was giving her plenty of reasons to wish he was gone? asleep on the couch with some lines he'd cut out and the TV still on. a flickering light that persists through the night, and an audible hum ocarina of time droning endlessly on from the dusk until dawn.
in particular, this keeps reminding me of certain moments on the EG opening ceremony mix. musically i don't hear a lot of new ground covered but it seems more polished slash laboured over than the previous DG releases. i'm a happy boy.

idk on the other hand it seems like jb has p good reasons for wanting to stay out of the spotlight a bit, which i respect, given that the music press is essentially a machine for generating cults of personality

it's def true that material benefits are 100% justified though. this album is maybe the most affecting thing i've heard or seen about the opioid crisis yet. it's a bummer idk

in the q&as too it's implied that some of the decisions that made this record unique (like the pitch shifted vocals) were made after deciding there was no reason to try to make money

i've just received a transmission from my spiritual leader, the mother of all music, Qveen Herby. she says.....well, this is most unusual.....she says breakbeats are hereafter to be referred to as "brooksbeats". unexpected surprise for today but i think it's in our interest to incorporate this into our vocabulary at once, or else the harvest will be disappointing again this year.
when i live in korea sometimes i would wear my ruin t shirt i think he has mentioned in interviews that it's a bad translation, but basically no one ever knew what that word meant and would look it up and be like.... yeah your shirt doesnt make sense man
