I did Ruido Fest this weekend and it was mostly fine. They were checking photos of vax cards and had on sight testing if you werent vaxxed. A few artists dropped at last minute. Who knows though? Riot is a bigger scale im sure and they could lose some more big names between then and now but Id imagine it will still happen
At least we have

I got this booked for Sunday. When you gave them your insurance card it didn't flag your earlier vaccine in their system or anything?

Also how were your side effects?

I mean, it's none of my business, but like, my understanding is that it isn't really beneficial to get the 3rd vaccine so far ahead of the recommended 8 month interval if you're not, like, immunocompromised. Which, idk, maybe you all are, but my understanding is that if you're not, then you'd benefit more from waiting until 8 months after your second dose.

I got my first dose in January, also they're pushing it up to six months instead of 8. I really wanna get a booster in before cps comes back. The whole point is to get it to better fight delta and delta is raging so sooner the better imo. If I'd been vaxxed in late spring/ early summer I wouldn't be getting the booster now.

i got an email from my healthcare provider the other day about the boosters and it specifically referenced the sept 20th as the date when boosters will be offered to people who aren't immunocompromised, and that we should wait the 8 months from the 2nd shot (mine would be october)

from my understanding, there's nothing extra in the booster that prevents delta or whatever, it's just that it just extends protection from the original series. i'd be curious to see breakthrough data with boostered individuals

i don't remember that they asked for it. there is no central vaccination registry because social media has taught us that that would be the final step before totalitarianism.

mild side effects (breaing out in sweats which didn't happen on the first two).

i was over six months out from my second shot.

fwiw, IL does have a central vaccination registry. you can even go through and verify what they have on record for you (mine has all my flu shots from the few couple years as well as both Covid doses, but not my childhood stuff...guessing my long gone pediatrician never digitized them)

lucky. mine were fucking brutal. felt horrible all day wednesday and thursday morning. i was laying out in the sun, wearing black corduroy paints and a long-sleeve denim shirt in 91º heat, and shivering. body felt like it was made of stale bread.

She said she needed my card if I was getting a 2nd dose. And if I was getting a booster, I was too early

I spent the last week on vacation in the north woods of Wisconsin where it never got over 82 and would dip into the 50s at night, we were in hoodies some nights! Coming back to this was... an adjustment. But it seems like starting Monday we'll be getting a big cool down.

Also the northwoods were fucking awesome, we were wayyyyy up there, all the way near the Michigan border and it was just gorgeous. Once you get far enough north you get this abrupt shift from dairyland to thick and massive pine and birch trees and everythings bordered by ferns and wildflowers.

i forget the exact story but spice room is like literally rangoli - like they're a relative of the rangoli people or something and use the exact same recipes. when i figured out you could get spice room relatively quickly instead of waiting 3 hours for rangoli, shit got real on hungover sundays.

just over here perusing the chicago thread from berlin cus i miss the food so much :(

has anyone gotten rid of a mattress in the city correctly? Streets and Sans says they will only pick up from single family homes or 2 flats and anything larger gets fined, which makes almost no sense
