god, i hope either katie sieracki or rossana can knock off deb mell. i have no idea how realistic either would be but at least rossana's ground game seems pretty good?

I'm waiting for more to come out but the whole thing had weird vibes from the start. Another reporter was saying they weren't maga hats but solid red hats from a Chicago clothing store

The whole thing sounded insane. It's upsetting because this gives people ammo to doubt claims of racist and homophobic attacks.

Wouldn't be surprised if trump tweets about it tonight. I'm sure jr. is already on the case

i hope it is fake, id much prefer the status quo of entertainment industry people behaving badly and right wingers feeling smug to there being actual white supremacist assaults in the loop

I am leaning toward Toni still
This whole thing sucks and nobody cares which will mean a lot of ward races are decided by like 3 votes so that will be fun

I've never seen an election this bleak in the city even during the years when daley didn't even have to campaign to get re-elected.

ive been sorta worried about the prospect of a chicago mayor with a good radical platform getting elected and then just easily held at arms length from doin anything by the machine. rahm, besides being a racist shithead, has done a marvelous job of consolidating power for himself through a lifetime of manipulation and alliance-building. i changed my mind to probably gonna vote for toni mostly cuz seiu endorsed her. i think that she would have a lot more success advancing her agenda than anyone younger or less integrated into the machine. and fuck you daley! if you’re reading this! youre not gonna win this one dickhead!

rick perlstein had a post yesterday about how the top five are all within the margin of error of first and that this minimizes the importance of voting for toni as an anti-daley gesture as daley may not even make the run-off. vote your real preference in the primary, vote strategically if daley makes the run-off.

these candidates are pretty indistinguishable to me and i'm not even seeing a point in casting a mayoral ballot. if it comes to it i'll begrudgingly vote against daley in the runoff

everyone should be voting for their alderman though, your vote actually counts quite a bit, and most wards have at least one candidate worth supporting
