yeah i work at cinespace which is practically next door.

Chicago's film and television workers are gonna be that dispensary's biggest customers.

whats concentrate? i've used a "vape" before like a pax where you just pack it with finely ground flower, it's fine, but not the same as a pen w/ oil

concentrate is wax or shatter or oil, it's usually what is inside a pod for a pen
the pax has an insert that is basically a little metal box that you put the concentrate inside of, you can put CBD oil in it if you wanted to as well
if you are smoking just flower you pack the chamber that the metal box sits in like a bowl and put a different cover on it

yeah one of the nice things about carts and edibles is more precision for taking smaller doses. the concentrates are... super concentrated... but a decent vape will give you a reliable dose and you can take as many lil puffs as you want. I've had some more legit commercial stuff sourced from cali that I liked alot, but I stopped messing w/ the stuff you can get on the black market here cuz of the above-mentioned concerns. I actually stopped before that came out cuz the stuff I was getting through my connect bothered my throat in a weird way that even smoking never does, and the high was noticeably different such that I think it was adultered with something else :? I’m excited to hopefully have a reputable source for vape carts, stuff is real convenient

my dad (boomer) talks about how back in the day they would pass out a pack of joints at the party and everyone would smoke their own lol

I mean, you should probably not go straight to that if you have no tolerance for it
what I am saying is if you get a vape like the pax then you can eventually do both when you feel up to it

edit: if you are buying concentrate or carts from a reputable dispensary then you will be fine, the only thing you will have to worry about is handling how strong it is

imho vape carts are better than flower vapes (again, presuming you have a reputable source) for ppl with a low tolerance because most flower vapes are really designed to vape a full bowl at a time. I know you can get an insert for the pax to pack half bowls but I think even that would be a pretty generous dose for a lot of folks. with a cart you can totally just heat it up, take one lil puff and put it away if you want.

but ya one that does both is prob a safe bet. I haven't heard any testimonials about the pax performance w/ concentrates, wasn't that kinda an after-thought feature they added?

im not worried about anything being too strong, frankly i'm trying to see if there's even such a thing, but all this vitamin e lung poisoning has me spooked to go to oil.

if you buy your carts at a good dispensary you should be fine, I'd find your eventual go to place and buy whatever device to smoke carts that they suggest

I actually prefer schwag because the really dank strains are too strong these days and they show me true darkness after one hit, whereas with schwag I can just get reasonably high and have a fine time. Schwag is the best.

All weed should ideally be harvested by the side of the road with a lawnmower and smoked out of something shaped like a skull or a wizard.

yeaaa, sucks but i mean it's to make the industry more equitable to minority owned dispensaries and it's only 6 months?

all that's going to happen is that maybe two or three more minority owned dispensaries will open in neighborhoods where there won't be a market for $40 grams and half of the dispensaries that already have licenses will appoint black executives as figureheads

i hear you, tho no one is saying it's going to be a super radical solution but it's not nothing and coming at what cost? delaying the availability of pricey legal weed products? doesn't seem like a big deal.

my understanding is this initiative is led by the city council's black caucus, which tbh Idk their track record too well so maybe ultimately that doesn't mean much, but I'm inclined to support it...

The committee that voted to delay is full of DSA members, I highly highly doubt the full council votes to delay the implementation. Glad they're making a stink about this because this is nothing without the promises of equity that the state made.

Three of our socialists voting for, two against. Interesting.
