If you have a car though I'd suggest south side neighborhoods like pilsen and bridgeport if you want to avoid paying for a spot/ trying to park on the north side

It's the land of tear down mansions, stepford wives, and baby strollers. Which admittedly describes most of the north side these days. Pretty acute over there though

i live in the armpit of bridgeport & chinatown and i love it here. if you have a car it's aces, because getting most places is v easy.

parking however still sucks at the wrong time/place

you can still get some great places in logan on that budget, i have a huge 2br condo for 1895, but i could probably get a sick 1br for a lot less i'd imagine

I was living right at the intersection of Leavitt/Wellington/Clybourn last i was up there so I was sort of in a grey area imo of not quite roscoe not quite logan and honestly I liked it for the same stuff you’re talking about.

I was working in Logan so getting to work was a breeze but it was nice to go home at night and have it be a quiet ghost town. Great proximity to the Damen/Western/Belmont busses. The apartment itself was pretty tiny but it was 1200 for a 2br lmao.

Logan Square is only going to get more outrageous. If you don't already live there I wouldn't bother. The housing stock there absolutely sucks, it's Chicago's crown jewel of scumbag rent seekers

yeah edgewater as great as far as north side goes. if u find a good place, humboldt and ukranian village are also good.

i avoid logan wicker like the plague mostly because strollers, crowds, $$ and im not a big drinker. im in pilsen or little village for mexican food p often tho

considering the limited number of dispensaries, the hours long waits, and that fact that on saturday and sunday most places had to close early this is...

i'm in old irving rn right on the edge of avondale and my rent is super cheap and i'm near the train so i can just pop down into logan/wicker/whatever p easily. i dunno. can't bring myself to leave a large spot to live in logan or wicker.

i'm still in logan, saccones are selling my building and i have to be out by aug 31 but i'm still really attached to the blue line

don't know if i can make the leap to bridgeport, albany, or uptown. might make a lateral move to west avondale or something.

Anyone else get the feeling that lake Michigan is gonna reclaim much of the chicago coastline for itself in the coming years?

dispensary 33 tested online registration on an eventbrite page today because of the weather. i went on right when it opened at 10 and picked the early slot, it said there were 30 spots left, i clicked confirm and it said it was sold out, then i went for the later slot (75 open slots) and the website crashed and i couldn't get to that screen again. this all took about 10 seconds.

The beaches are artificial to begin with, but yeah. It's real bad in Rogers Park already, esp where those condos butt up right against the lake. It's crazy how different water levels are compared to just give years ago, when everyone was afraid the lake was mysteriously draining
