VIOLA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A man has died in an industrial accident in southwest Sedgwick County.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Emergency crews responded to an industrial accident with one person trapped in machinery at Youngers & Sons Manufacturing in the 19200 block of West K-42, north of Viola.

Upon arrival, a worker was found trapped in a tooling machine. The Sedgwick County Fire Department says they were able to reverse the machine with the help of employees at the company. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after.

It is currently unclear how the man became trapped.

The Economy Locker Storage Company, which specializes in the sale of meat, is located at 324 Worthington Lane.

According to the company's website, the processing plant has been in business since the early 1900s.

I had to have some reflection time after being glad to see this thread bumped; then realizing that meant someone died a grisly death.
