Annoyingly, people just saying "thrones" or "GoT" are still slipping through.

I got a Game of Thrones-themed Uber Eats email earlier today. I can't avoid it.

Thought this was bumped because of the new ringer ads. I’m sure there’s a legitimate need, but broadcasting train crossings as dangerous in a PSA for the podcast ads is hilarious

They're both liberal media criticism. I've really only listened to the Press Box but it's... fine. It was in my listening rotation for a while because it's easy to listen to but the middle of the road liberalism bothered me after a while.

Bills complete lack of knowledge is hilarious given the ringers all in GoT strategy. I’m pretty sure my parents know more about the show.

yeah i find damage control to have some more left leaning critiques coming from more contemporary critics (esp of silicon valley tech culture) while press box is a bit more dated and old print media boomers

The Ringer just flat-out stinks now. Simmons hot takes are ok, the MLB stuff seems good and a sliver of the NBA stuff is tolerable. Forget about the pop culture, though. I mean

I was probably just looking on the wrong days, but given all the jokes about the Ringer just becoming a GoT content dump this spring, I was kinda surprised to see a bunch of no-names in almost all the bylines. It seemed weird not to have Concepcion and Rubin anchoring that coverage the way they did in years past.

Again, I dunno, maybe they were.

The Ringers 1999 album and singles list is extremely weird. It's really hard to figure out what the criteria are, especially because largely it seems to be 'wow, this was so popular and memorable' but then randomly Terror Twilight and whatever is on the list too.

The #1 album is incomprehensible, tbh

The Battle of Los Angeles is mediocre, but, uh, it speaks to the moment I guess.

looking at what rate your music thinks the top albums are of 1999 and it doesnt seem like it was a good year. they got two video game OSTs in the top 25
