Visions is def gonna be top 20. I think to pimp a butterfly will be the highest ranked Kendrick. The suburbs will probably be 86. Bon Iver Bon Iver will be 62, a seat at the table will be 29, Mac DeMarco 2 will be 197. I don't know why I'm choosing these albums and numbers. Yeezus will be 17, Carrie and Lowell 33, Lonerism will be higher than Currents for some reason, modern vampires will be top 25.

Would be stunned if they ranked Channel Orange ahead of Blond(e).

I'd also be surprised if GKMC wasn't the highest Kendrick, though I could maybe see DAMN. I think TPAB would be too on-brand. Think it's more likely Yeezus/TLOP is the highest Kanye than TPAB is the highest Kendrick.

Would bet on Lonerism and Run the Jewels 2 being top 20.

Norman Fucking Rockwell will be top 30, big thief UFOF will be top 60 lol. Benji will be really high up even though they've panned all his other albums since. Where will Ariel Pink be? And D'angelo will probably be top 20.

On the occasion of Ric Ocasek's death, I ventured to Pitchfork to see what reviews they have in their archives, and, well

https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/1319-the-cars-deluxe-edition/

hahaha, they kept this Schreiber-penned bullshit from 1999 when they were scrubbing their pre-2k archives

its fun to go to these old reviews because if you scroll to the bottom it gives you an endless scroll of reviews loading in reverse chronological order, making it easy to find even more embarrassing old ones

I think To Pimp a Butterfly as #1 for the 2010s has to have some decent odds. Blond(e) in the top 5. I wonder what indie rock whatever they'll present as worthy of a top 5 - they'll want to focus on hip hop and rap stuff because they're super conscious, it feels, of their image as indie rock hipsters but they will doubtlessly want to corronate something as part of the college/indie/alt rock pantheon as #2 or 3.

I'd think it'd be one of: 'Have One on Me', 'Carrie and Lowell', 'Teen Dream', 'My Woman', 'A Crow Looked at Me', 'Benji' or 'Puberty 2'? Maybe 'Modern Vampires' but that seems on the nose.

'Blackstar' and 'Lemonade' may place real high too.

It's stuff like that that makes the board "the board" though!

the ~Kanye Question~ is obviously the most interesting re. this list:
in a pre-2018 timeline i would've called every record he's done this decade somewhere in the top ... 30 at least (maybe not like ... Cruel Summer but i mean like the solo discog and WTT).

i can still remember waking up and reading the MBDTF 10.0 lol, which will probably retain its stature in the list. i'm kind of more curious re. Yeezus and (especially) TLoP though. the latter in particular i feel could fall, given its closeness to his current headspace and the kind of "erratic" quality of it that, at the time, was feted for giving it its status as an infinitely changeable/never finished Work of Art whereas now i could see it being reappraised by people soured on Ye as slapdash/half-baked, etc.

re. Kendrick: i'd be shocked if GKMC and DAMN. weren't both ahead of TPAB.
i actually think TPAB's standing has fallen after Kendrick made more accessible songs again and people liked it better.
