I'm still getting used to it so I feel like a Z06 would be wasted on me at this point. I need to fuck up a few times in it in a safe environment

the premium for a Z06 is a bit steep unless you FUCKING NEED IT which most don’t

Should I buy a 2014 Honda Civic Hybrid with 40,000 miles for $10,000? I certainly can't sleep in it, but it seems like a good deal. The owner is an old lady who seems to have taken good care of it. She has those rubber bumper guard thingies on to avoid dents. She's asking $10,000 but said she'll "negotiate a little".

I really wanted a car/truck I could transport a dresser in if needed. But this seems like a good deal and I really want to stop car shopping asap.

if you're not a hick like me or a slumlord like wop, you'll use a truck once for yourself and thrice for every single fucking person you have ever met who knows you have a truck

I am no subie noob - legacy and outback models are all my parents drove, and i learned to drive on them too so the handling is all too familiar to me.

Which is why last month I leased a 2020 crosstrek limited from bay ridge subaru (located in bensonhurst). 1 month in, I gotta say I'm loving it. Its just the right amount of space for me and my crew. everyone else seems to have it though, and honestly that is quite alright with me. I prefer to blend in.

Not sure where else in brooklyn Subaru dealerships are but i had a fairly expedient experience there.

one of the best things about rural living is that everyone has a truck so nobody ever asks to borrow yours and if they do you don't have to feel bad about saying no

Feel like I'm losing my mind deciding on what car to buy. Narrowed it down to a barely used 2019 Outback and a barely used 2019 or 2020 Prius. I realize they're very different cars. My girlfriend really wants to use the cargo area of the car as a sleeping area on road trips so I guess the Outback makes more sense for that. The Prius seems like a better daily driver and obviously better on gas and I feel more confident in the reliability of a Toyota over a Subaru. I've also read about people sleeping in the back of their Prius. I haven't owned a car in 15 years. My last car was an Altima that was a gift from my dad and the car before that was a 1983 Supra that I bought with my Bar Mitzvah money. Please help.

We have visions of long road trips upstate and out West, but I won't be doing a lot of regular, daily driving.

Yeah Pink Snake the Outback seems well suited to everything you’ve posted in this thread. (Will say in my limited experience I would not rate sleeping in your car so much higher than a nice tent setup, though I’ve never tried a full platform conversion or w/e.)

We bought a 2014 Crosstrek this summer after figuring out what multiple 2-week rentals were likely to cost us. Would have bought a CRV but didn’t find anything priced right and kinda preferred the hatchback/wagon. Slow as hell but I like it so far – easy to street park and move camping shit and I’ll feel comfortable when my gf’s driving to Boston in it all winter.

I had awful experiences in NYC and ended up renting a Uhaul van for a day (lol!) to go to dealerships in NJ. Somebody’s traded it in at a Toyota dealer and I found it on CarGurus. One thing: assuming you don’t have insurance now, get the shortest policy term you can; you’ll have to pay a big-ass premium without an active policy but can renew for way less with any company once you’re in.

you shouldn't let a dealer look at the trade in vehicle until you've reached agreement on a price for the vehicle you're buying right? or is that old school bullshit?

if it changes anything - I think that my partner's trade in vehicle is only worth like $500, but that's because I know that the reason she's buying a different car is because I replaced the camshaft position sensors on her 2012 malibu and found that the oil screens were caked in metal shavings so I bet that timing chain is fuckin' toast.
