so what about jazz? i like when it's rotten wood-smoke pouring out of transistor radios and the drums are so god damned loud that you swear the place is gunna cave in, or that maybe in fact it already has!
this is fun

found this on a spotify rabbit hole. dig it a lot. guess it's a jazz project of a session drummer for mf doom and joey badass.

the main thing about pharoah sanders is that he kicks ass

karma is probably the canonical entry point

I've been doing my November Jazz Month Instagram thing I've been doing for a couple years. Every year since 2004, I listen to Jazz exclusively for the month of November. This year, I've been pulling records from my collection chronologically (one per year), starting in 1955.

My knowledge of jazz is shallow and like a decade old and it only gets shallower outside the top half dozen or so artists

my knowledge is admittedly shallow as well

have you heard sidewinder?

Image

again, this is like, a common album, but if you haven't heard this one i strongly recommend it

Interplay lacks a saxophone, but i think you will like it

i think u couldn't go wrong with pretty much any blue note record from the late 50's, 60's. i really like wayne shorter's Adam's Apple
