yeah this was good but then the ending was like "oh i guess this is over huh"

This was a collection of good scene set-ups without much care for pacing. And, like, the comment about it not being finished is right. The explanation of what these things are, how they’re connected to water, what the rules are, etc. are sketched out but never fully explained. The end in the psych ward and the chair flying is just straight up cheesy. But, the dead boy maybe moving at the table and the running, mutated lady hitting the car window are really effective.Toggle Spoiler

Scary stories to tell in the dark is gonna be p interesting because that thing lived and died by those dripping inky pics that accompanied each story and how grotesque they were.

Bout to be snowpocalypse where I live. What’s some good snow (but not holiday) horror? Other than Let The Right One In or The Thing

okay, i'm in.

few things, tho:

1. lithgow's line reading of "Sometimes...dead is better" isn't matching Fred Gwynne's iconic take
2. oh god they're keeping the Achilles heel slice gahhhhToggle Spoiler
3. wedigo sighting!
4. interesting they've switched up the kids' fatesToggle Spoiler

interesting either rolling Zelda into the daughter or that scene is a flashback but damn if they are blending the characters that would be a smart way to streamline the filmToggle Spoiler

I don't know if I can pin down exactly which moment in The Prodigy got the biggest laughs, but the one I keep going back to in my head is the use of paprika as ominous foreshadowing.

That "we are still here" or w/e movie from 3-4 yrs ago is mad snowy and also good
Slartisfgh is never mentioned in The Bible, but it is here, during one of the early battles, that Matthew spontaneously became liquid.

If we're still doin snow, The Children (one from 2000's, not 80's) is a nice low key choice. A bit under seen, sadly.

Yeah I felt a little dismissive of this flick as I was watching it because I couldn’t figure out what the fuck it was trying to do. But it’s stuck with me and I think a rewatch will be rewarding. It’s a little blumhouse-y tho.

this was a lot better than i thought it would be. def worth a watch. kind of Babadooky, a bit Descenty. good performances particularly from the little kid.
