the molecule 01 + mandarin is pretty good. I enjoyed layering it with terre d’hermes.

Does anyone, like me, ever fuck around and read reviews on Fragrantica in their downtime? I just looked up Polo because my dad wore it when I was a kid and the first review was this:

Definitely American Republicanism, conservatism and capitalism in a bottle - things I love and respect, definitely masculine, and most definitely green and leathery - at least in the drydown.

The fuck.

and I was like "silver water huh...hmmmmm 🤔 " and bought it and yep, it is definitely a blatant attempt to recreate Creed Silver Mountain Water lol. Still smelled really good though, I'm still using it!

Bought this the other day and it's a thumbs up. Scent really lingers on the skin though, hard to put on a different fragrance afterward. Will probably try the cologne since I've been missing Silver Mountain Water.

I don't wear any fragrances but I used to really enjoy reading through this book, which an ex had around. It's super fun.

I've been into Molton Brown Geranium Nefertum as my summer scent this year. Lovely green floral opening that hits strongly with fig leaf and rose-y geranium. A creamy, earthy base that isn't normally what I prefer in the summer, but I love it here because it mostly stays close to the skin.

a couple years back itt i was mentioning my quest for dry woodiness with orange, and stumble upon tdh tres fraiche... i still have like 80% of the bottle as i ended up liking it less on me as time went on (it sort of sours or something, not austere like i want it)

would this m01+mando scratch my itch, you think?

Just get like a 5 ml bottle.

80% of the time it turns out that I don't even like a fragrance enough to get through a 2 ml spray before my interest wanes. For the exceptions, it's easy to re-up with another sample spray.

I'd say if you're someone whose nose picks up "woodiness" from molecule 01, it very well might scratch that itch! it's basically a whole bunch of juicy orange right up front (more pulp than pith), with iso e super gently buoying the short-lived citrus.

that said, to my nose, iso e super has never really smelled woodsy or cedar-y, and instead it takes on an animalistic, musky vibe, so if you're hoping for more of a straightforward, dry woodsiness, you might not get enough woods with molecule 01 + mandarin. I suppose it all comes down to how woodsy the regular molecule 01 is to you.

merciel, if you could only keep five fragrances from your collection what would they be? or alternatively what are your five favourites in terms of overall regular wearability mileage
