used older recumbents are probably the way to go, can stay on them a good while since can read or play video games. does take up a bit of space

for spin bikes, i like the ones keiser makes but costs a bit

i used to get my home cardio in with a $40 stepper a few years ago

weslo climbers and similar are pretty cheap, never tried a non commercial one so can't speak on their quality

not much to it, keep hands low and jump on balls of feet

i aim for sets of a hundred revolutions with short breaks in between, altering with various jumps to make it less boring

kind of fucked up my heel from doing way too many double unders over time so i don't do those anymore.

maybe go full buddy lee trick mode with it

I've gone back to jumping rope. I like to do 100 double-foot skips, 100 alternating foot, 50 left foot only, 50 right foot only (sometimes I'll do the single foot ones in group of 25), and then 100 more double-foot and that's a set. if I fuck up, I go backward to the nearest denomination of 25 and continue. sucks when you trip up at like 49 or 74

you gotta kind of give up on olympic plates these days unless make a lawyer's salary and buy from resale sites/apps

i'm pretty much using nothing but standard plates now. been doing more general bodybuilding stuff so it's not a problem.

there's people selling like just 4 rogue 25 lb bumper plates for close to $500 on offerup and it actually sells pretty quick

i bought these adjustable kettlebell/dumbbells off this guy because there's two of them and he included 60 lbs with it for $65. not too great as either a db or kb but it looks kind of cool and the kb handle works well for farmer's walks. mostly got it for the plates

if anyone wants to increase the difficulty of their pull-ups and dips but don't own a dip belt, those under $5 dog leashes work pretty well

or just fill a backpack with a bunch of books if don't need a ton of weight, can then do weighted push ups too

Brouhaha those look like the weights strongmen used to lift at the circus or whatever. They absolutely rule (but do look awkward as heck).

Yeah, I got a few strongmen results when I reversed image searched them a while back. Doubt they'd be very effective for what's considered heavy to those guys. I can see them being used for carries though. York sells just the handle.

I like strongman equipment. I sucked the one time I tried walking with a yoke. Maybe I'll start getting into logs, kegs, and circus dumbbells, ha

Finally figured this one out today with my backpack and a pipe I had left over from when I built my dip bars. It's not perfect but it felt good 2 curl again which I have been wanting to do lately even though I almost never worked them into my programing

i don't remember posting that exact one but it's possible. there's no shortage of create a gym from stuff at home depot vids. most buy sand though, that guy went the fancy salt route

i've been messing around with macebells lately, they're harder than they look. at first i bought a 10 lb one and it's 4 feet and tricky to learn on. then i got a second 7 lb one and that one is 3 feet and a lot easier to maneuver. think all the ones after 7 lbs are long. some places sell them pretty cheap, like $30-60 for the under 20 lb ones

i want to put in a solid effort to be able to overhead squat with a loaded olympic barbell. think it's more of a mobility issue for me. been mostly practicing with light kettlebells and a standard bar without weights

I've finally worked out a routine for absolutely destroying myself on the basement treadmill (max incline, fastest speed I can sustain without actually running), and it's brutal in the moment but I get a totally great runner's high afterward, and I don't even miss the gym anymore, and... god damn, I am going to get back in shape just as summer is over.

it's sad seeing some of my local gyms who didn't survive this listing their full inventory on offerup

wonder if someone will actually pay 6k to have a commercial leg press machine at their house. the type who would, likely want new with a warranty

I truly miss being able to spend every morning of summer going to the gym, taking some classes and then doing a long steam. Ughhhh

down to 165 pounds (started off at close to 190), can fit into 32 jeans again, no visible gut remains

still haven't got around to doing any exercise so I'm still not 'in shape' in terms of fitness and I'd hesitate to say it's been a good summer but...

good job

i forgot to take creatine for two weeks and definitely lost a little mass, i was really worried it was from lack of my full gym accoutrement but then i realized and was so relieved

right back to normal baseline in a few days, at least in my mind
