tdt feta is actually pretty close to ok, you can probably still put some on your salad.

i bought a semi-recumbent bike off amazon. can sit down and watch tv and pedal away comfortably. i'm sure i could have a much more efficient method but at least this way i'm still making an effort five months later and i didn't balloon for winter.

"good" calories. not much (or any) cholesterol or saturated fats.

hummus is high in protein and is made with olive oil which is good for your heart, lemon juice which is an antioxidant and a lot of the time also contains Omega 3 fatty acids. find a good Middle Eastern restaurant and just get that to go. mix it with carrots/celery - it's an awesome snack.

also it burns significantly more calories to digest protein, so it's like a nice kickback

starch is a type of glucose, glucose is absorbed by your pancreas and converted into insulin (to give you energy, and burn off the glucose), but excess glucose is converted into fat stores for later use. potatoes are entirely starch, and so entirely sugar. potatoes make you hell of fat.

yes, no reason you wouldn't unless you started eating worse. Keep in mind there is no such thing as targeted weight loss, you'll generally lose it in reverse order of how you put in on

oh okay that sounds pretty good. I've always had a gut but over the last year or two I've ballooned a bit - I'm on the verge of either losing weight or having to buy an entire new wardrobe

As for eating worse, I don't cook at all - I'll just eat subway twice a day

brown rice is good, hummus is good. i find that i have a much easier time losing weight/cutting cravings if i eat a lot of fiber, like 40-50 grams/day. this also requires that you drink a lot of water, around 3L/day.

out of everything listed, this is the single hardest thing. i dunno if i want to live in a world without cheese.

it sucks but its possible

i wanted to get in shape for a cruise a couple years ago so i even allowed myself bread but didnt eat cheese for like a month. lost 8 lbs pretty easily

more than you before is always beneficial. on the runs try to push it out and over time slowly increase the running and decrease the walking. Lot's of people start out this way. I even like to slow jog corners on a track and sprint straightaways to switch it up sometimes.

i feel so guilty this is the first time i've worked out in so long and I'm already back to giving advice. it all works though i swear

i don't intend to be dismissive of anyone's advice in this thread, but it just rubs me the wrong way when diets reccommend cutting specific foods out. Like yes, obviously processed food is terrible, factory farmed meat is morally and nutritionally suspect, and you probably shouldn't eat pizza/pasta every day, but it just seems crazy to me that staple foods with so many years of tradition behind them are suddenly off-limits and not good for you

obviously this is a very personal thing, and if you've found something that works for you and makes you feel good that's what's important

I ruined myself last year, but I dropped a bunch just moving out of my parents' house. Also, I haven't had a pop in two weeks because my roommate yelled at me to eat like a normal person and stop drinking pop and see what happens.

I just want my butt back and my belly pooch gone.

it makes more sense when you understand how carbohydrates, glucose, protein, etc. affect your body and how the body caters them. once you've got the physiology down (which wasn't at all understood back when these foods were made traditional) it makes perfect sense to cut out certain things to achieve your goal.

some edible things in the world are straight negative for your health and weight, even if they taste good. cheese is mind numbingly bad for you.
