i had the one on the left when i was in copenhagen and i asked the liquor store near me to order it for me. he ended up ordering a different type in addition by accident so i grabbed it anyways. he had told me the one on the left was a white vermouth, which was confusing to me because i thought it had a similar label to the one i had in copenhagen, so i ended up opening the one on the right first. some googling showed the one on the left is the one i had in copenhagen and is not a white vermouth. anyways the one one the right is really good! but i'm excited to open the one on the left because it was excellent.

also, this is my first foray into vermouth without a cocktail in mind, but i have a lot of it now, so i'd love some cocktail suggestions if any one has any.

Try this:

Diplomat
1 1/2 oz. dry vermouth
1 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
1 dash maraschino liqueur
1 dash Angostura bitters
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: cocktail
Garnish: maraschino cherry
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish.

do it on the rocks with soda water and orange slice + olive.

I just loaded them into an El Presidente. Uhhhh, I dunno. I’ll update if there any unexpected effects but I don’t think I’m a candidate for CBD noticeability. I did detect a slight synthetic, menthol’ish character that I don’t get from straight orange bitters.

i thought this would be a sure shot but not really turning anything up -- is there one of these that tastes really similar to chinotto (bitter orange italian soda)? maybe Averna?

i see it listed as an ingredient in a few things, but looking for something where that's the pronounced/driving flavor.

This is just so good. Straight with a peel it is very close in flavor to a negroni on its own but at 16%. Been drizzling in a little gin.

damn you all for getting me hooked on braulio. been drinking it in a spritz constantly, sometimes I’ll throw some gin or cognac in there too but haven't really mixed it much. also haven't had much luck finding an LC that carries many amaros, anyone got a rec in chicago?
